I grew up in FL and had never visited the fort. I'm glad to have finally done it. The cannon demo was a big hit. The fort is not all that large and can be fully explored in two hours.

Beautiful historical site. To visit the "dungeon" where prisoners were kept and see their etchings on the walls was amazing. We love it here.

My husband is a history freak so this was one of the highlights of our trip for him. We enjoyed the reenactment they performed. PS....military personnel get in free.

I love to share the history and beauty of our Castillo de San Marcos to visiting friends and family. History buffs are always impressed with the education and attention to details noted at the Castillo. This is a must-see visit when in St. Augustine!

Amazing that this fort is still standing but when you see how thick the walls are you'll understand why. On the weekends they do shoot the canons off (check their website for times) Interesting to see, recommended. 😉
