Pirates were a constant threat to St Augustine during its early days. The construction of the city castle helped protect the population, but the pirates still managed to plunder and burn the city. The museum has the largest collection of pirate artifacts which boasts a whole room full of treasure which was pulled from wrecks. I enjoyed the full-size mock... More

Small museum but well put together. Don't feel like it is a cheap little museum. Informative, good displays

This was probably our favorite tour of all the tours we took over Thanksgiving Break. The Captain that gave us the tour was an incredible story teller, more so because we felt the pride he had in the museum and it came through in each of the stories he told us. Whether it be about the artifacts and how they... More

Had a wonderful time seeing all the pirate things and history. They even have a treasure hunt of sorts for the kids and mine loved looking for the skulls to find the clues, if you go durning certain times, you can get a pirate tour guide and he/she takes you through the museum and tell you all about the history... This museum is perfect for families with the kids. Like other people wrote, it is very interactive and educational. My daughter loved it. She especially enjoyed her treasure hunt. She searched for all clues while learning about pirates. Even though it is not a big exhibit, it has many pirates artifacts. Our whole family enjoyed it. The museum is open... More

Not what I expected. This is a hands on museum - perfect for families and kids. It was enjoyable, but more suited for famlies with children. Very interactive and educational.

Captain William Mayhem was a great tour guide. He was funny, informative, and kept everyone on point. He also answered each and every question, attesting to his vast knowledge of pirate and treasure history/information. I was impressed by the authenticity of the artifacts on display as well as the multi-sensory "activities".

One of only two original Jolly Roger flags left in the world on display. Interesting collection of actual pirate items and some replicas. Part of the admission price goes to preserve the history of pirates. Admission price is typical for the area.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Pirate and Treasure Museum. It was interesting to see how piracy became so common in this part of the world. The museum walks you through the different pirate ages and tries to show you the differences between the legends and the reality of pirate life and history. I didn't take any children with... More
