WHAT A SURPRISE!! WONDERFUL PLACE....

You would never expect an Orthodox Monastery in a place like St. Augustine. Small, quaint and spiritual... a bit of history and calm in the middle of a tourist area. Recommend.

The Shrine presents a lot of information regarding the first Greek immigrants to the New World and highlights some of their struggles. Beyond the history, there is a lot of beautiful Greek Orthodox art and decoration. A true gem tucked into the pedestrian only area of St George Street

This tiny museum, shrine and museum are just precious. Beautiful religious pieces, a wonderful shrine of religious artwork, and a little movie about the tough conditions under which the first Greeks settled in St.Augustine. I was very impressed by the care that obviously went into putting this museum together.

We stopped by here to do a quick tour. The place is very lovely. The shrine is so beautiful and relaxing. There are many museum type signs around to update you on history of the Orthodox church.

small walk thru, very peaceful, reminded me of places I had been to in Greece. If you need a place to just sit and relax in the courtyard.

This was more of a small museum than a shrine. Very small. Took only 15 minutes or less to walk through.

First arched room has a whisper spot. Very cool. Also the relics and stories are fascinating. The tour usually ends at the gift shop of course. Take the time to get something and support this nice little bit of history.

There is some very interesting and powerful Greek culture in North America initiated by the entry of the culture emigrating to St Augustine and developing a new colonial opportunity to grow and develop. Being part of the new generation it is very liberating to know of all the entry points into this continent which kept the unique and religious culture... More

Being an Orthodox Christian I was anxious to see this shrine. It told the history of the Greeks in St Augustine. Don't miss this
