This was the highlight of my trip to St. Augustine! After doing the touristy things there, I noticed there was very little information on the critical Civil Rights history in St. Augustine, which I found odd. I had seen the doc "Dare Not Walk Alone", so I knew there was more to discover. After emailing and leaving a voice mail... More

I am so irate. I'm still here in St Augustine but you better believe that when I return to California, I'm going to write whoever is in charge of marketing services to visitors in this community. After reading these reviews-I realized that I'm not alone-I never heard of the rich contributions that African Americans have made to St Augustine, prior... More

We had some extra time to kill since our early morning dolphin tour was canceled. As we were driving around to kill time, we stumbled upon a Freedom Trail sign on Bridge St. We called the number on the sign and listened to the informative recordings on three of the buildings. Before I return to St Augustine I'm going to... More

We asked for an African-American history map at the Visitor Center since I had lost mine from the Web. We then walked over to Lincolnville, just strolling through looking at churches, a school, and historic homes. We talked to some local residents and witnessed the gentrification coming to the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center was closed on... More

This was a part of history not included in the usual history lessons. Lincolnville is a significant part of St Augustine.

This was our first visit to St. Augustine and really wasn't aware of the role the city played in the early civil rights movement. We just happened to "stumble" upon various historic markers. It appears there were demonstrations and sit-ins at the old Woolworth 5 & 10 lunch counter - now the site of a Wells Fargo Bank. Will have... More

History that I remember happening. Didn't realize this was here. Trolley tour guide pointed out the history of it.

This was a great way to help my wife and I schedule our spring break trip with our little girls. We are all very excited to visit such a historical site as this.
