Even though Pinellas County, Florida has the highest population density in the state, there are "wilderness areas" that allows one to get away, even if the faint drone of the Interstate in the background is "background music". Sawgrass Lake Park is a good example, with highways on two sides, yet surprisingly peaceful, once you're off on one of the trails.... More

I'm sure this park is beautiful, but since the website said pets are allowed on a leash, I brought my dog. Dogs are not allowed on any of the boardwalks which means you can't really bring your dog to the parts of the park that are interesting. It looked like it was a very pretty place - I just didn't... First thing you should notice around the education building/bathrooms is the landscaping, it's all done in native vegetation. The only park I've noticed that plants Beauty Berries. There is a lot of great information around on the walls where they have the animals documented. A majority of the trails are shaded so it stays relativity cool (for Florida). This is... More

We are regular visitors to st pete beach area and had never visited here before, glad we did! Really worth a visit, the tropical plants and trees and flowers are beautiful, there are also flamingos and parrots. The waterfall too is lovely, we spent a couple of hours here , plenty of benches to relax on as you amble around.... More

Another "attraction" we found thanks to TripAdvisor. We were hoping to see an Alligator in the "wild" rather than at the zoo and we were lucky enough to spot one here. Only one, but pleased to have seen its head poking out of the water. We had a really nice walk here, there are different routes you can take and... More

Saw 4 Gators from the bridge small ones but still impressive when you come from a state with no Aligators.

What a great place to visit. As a family from Indianapolis we don't usually see a lot of wildlife outside the zoo. This place was beautiful. Saw several alligators-including baby alligators!! We walked for an hour and still didn't see all the trails!

When we come to Florida in the month of October, one of the parks that we frequent is this park. We like this park because we always see alligators. From the little visitors center, when you cross the bridge by the visitors center, you usually see alligators in October hanging out around the bridge. If you continue on across the... More

I found this park on accident when I first moved to this area. Since then I have been back a few times. It's a great park to take out of town visitors who want to see Florida wildlife, like alligators. If you go in the evening, make sure to bring bug spray and wear full coverage clothing.
