Being from the family of aircraft designers, I always admire, value and respect thoughtful tributes to the pioneers of aviation all over the world. This park is one of these memorial grounds, living both in the past and in the present. Technically, it is not a traditional park with some hundred year old trees, shaded areas and fancy landscaping. A... More

Discovered this small park while visiting the Dali Museum. There are 5 free parking spaces adjacent to the small play ground . The rest of the parking is metered. $1 (quarters only) allows for 1 hour of parking. There are sitting benches threw out the park and two picnic tables This park is very small but I really liked it... More

While living in St. Petersburg, this was a go-to place for many reasons. It's lovely, inviting, and there's much to take in. They've done a beautiful job of creating this wonderful stretch along the downtown harbor. You look out on Tampa Bay, and the yachts of the wealthy. The park is well kept, with magnificent trees. Periodic events are held... More

This park includes a great aeronautical themed playground. The playground has areas for toddlers and elementary school kids with multiple slides as well as a climbing tower, swings, rocking planes, and spinning chairs. Even the sidewalks are painted to be runways. the location right on the bay, next to the airport and across from the marina makes every trip a... More

The playground is fine. No shade and little cover from the sun though. We parked here to visit all of the sites in the area. Fun for all ages. The views of the marina are superb.

That’s your main reason for visiting this little strip of a park. On a good day I’ve passed photo sessions at the entrance (so you can get the flashy, blue dome of the Dali Museum as well as the steps of the Mahaffey Theater) and along the waterfront (capture both the St. Pete skyline AND the little yachts) BUT THERE’S... I am not sure how I originally found the Albert Whitted Park but I will say I am glad I did. Albert Whitted Playground is an airplane themed playground. The equipment is unique and blends in with the Albert Whitted Airport, to the south of the playground. It is fun and well maintained. The playground has a lookout tower, similar... More

Incredible views. Marina on one side and airport on the other. My boys love watching the boats sail in and out and the small airplanes taking off and landing. The playground equipment is airplane themed and good for young and older kids. My boys are 8 and 4 and they both love it. Warnings: free parking spaces are limited. Bring... More

Went there for the World's Largest Food Truck Rally. It was a nice location for the event, on water with a large green space in the center. Convenient to get to and park.
