The Preserve encompasses 4.7 miles of natural and paved trails, boardwalks, and a 45ft. tall Observation Tower. Visitors may also experience the Preserve by renting kayaks or canoes on-site and paddling a 4-mile loop trail. Weedon Island Preserve is a well-known birding site and is included in the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. No pets are permitted. The Preserve’s Cultural and Natural History Center is open Thursday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hey this is a great place and the paths and views are just incredible. We enjoyed watching the mullet jump in the marsh lakes. Watch your kids though. We had a rattlesnake cross the path in front of us.

Weedon Island is a bit difficult to access but oh so worth it. It can be reached by canoe or kayak which makes the visit even more of an adventure.
