We spent a lovely morning walking the boardwalk above the watery areas. On this first visit, we weren't sure which direction to start. Friendly visitors told us the path/boardwalk is a loop. Partway through, an observation tower allows visitors to see the surrounding area and...More

Forget about the power plant sitting across the Bay. Weedon is worthy competition to most any eco-destination you might consider on the planet. I spent thousands traveling Costa Rica to kayak the estuaries in Guanacaste Province, and points south along that famed West coast radiating...More

This is a lovey place for a walk. It offers nice views admidst pleasant surroundings, but if you are a bird watcher, you will be disappointed.

We had the place to ourselves today due to the weather (61 degrees and overcast). Not sure how busy the place gets on the weekend or when the weather is hotter. Nice paved trails and raised wooden decks to walk on. Tower at the end...More

Lots of little lizardy things, and probably if you come in morning or evening you'll see more birds. Loved the elevated trails over a critical ecosystem and habitat. Tower view was nice. Just overall a pleasant excursion and something different. Well maintained.

Kayak or walk but bring your binoculars. I particularly enjoy the white pelicans but there are so many birds to see. Its usually a place where you can find a spot to yourself.

Taking a hike or canoe or kayak trip through the mangrove forest is an incredible journey. Seeing the archeological treasure canoe in person is an incredibly rewarding experience.

First time to this pretty park. Tons of mangroves to see from the paths. Although the signs and some markers were faded, the paper map made it easy for us to know where we were going. Pretty walks for sure!

This is a great place to bring the kids and the adults will also have a great learning experience. It is fun to walk out to the boardwalk and learn about the life in the mangroves. Check the local newspaper for events.

Thanks for your question. When paddling, you want at least a 1.1 foot tide to make it through the tunnels without having to drag your vessel. Anywhere above about a 2.5 foot tide becomes difficult as well because you're... More
