Visited 2 of the islands, St Simon and Jekyll. Both are lovely islands but downtown of both are typical tourist areas.

35 years ago I decided to retire and move South. I did it early so that I would have roots in the community where I was to retire. I play golf year round and never am more than a few miles from two beautiful and very different beaches. The Millionaires moved to Jekyll Island in the early 1900's to get... More

Peaceful beaches off the Georgia coast with miles to walk on Jekyll Island. The activities here are great, but the beauty is in the vast sections of the island untouched and preserved. The history of the Histora Disttrict reminds us of many major US events and the tram tour is worth the ride for the excellent commentary. For families the... More

What a great 5 days! Weather a little cool, but otherwise beautiful. Condo rental on St. Simons was great; go to the St. Simons Lighthouse (maybe wait until the "keeper's shack" is completed in about a month), Fort Frederica if you are a history buff; thoroughly enjoyed Credle's Adventures (Dolphin Tour) and the horseback ride on Jekyll Island. The Georgia... More

I can't thank Cory and Pete enough for their knowledge and professionalism that they demonstrated for my family and friends when we went to ride wave runners. GI Water Sports is truly a class act, and by far one of the best water sports companies we have used on our vacations. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to... More

Sharon Alvin , behind the desk at the visitor center was very helpful in calling hotels on a very busy weekend to find us a place to stay. She also filled us in on area attractions. Very pleasant and helpful as was the other person... More
