Zoo is a nice place to go if you want to be outside and relax. It's quiet and very very shady. The giraffes are the best exhibit. A lot of the animals are laying and hiding away from the sun. My daughter loves the sprinklers and the park. We did 30 minutes of sprinklers walked around to dry off then... More

I visited the Sanford Zoo as a little girls and I recently found a photo of Daddy and Uncle Jack visiting the zoo in the 1940s. It's been around a long time. How it's grown, changed, and moved on with the times. Now my grandson loves to go to feed the giraffes and visit the hippo. On a recent visit,... More

Smaller zoo than we were used to visiting. Nice attractions. Lay out not straightforward. Plenty of other activities for younger kids, splash park, playground, lunch tables outside the facility. Staff courteous and helpful. Overall nice afternoon activity.

Enjoyed this place. It was hot but nicely set up. Wandering around for awhile. Enjoyed the ice cream.

I did go there on a Sunday, they open at 9.00 am, almost nothing was open, they started to clean and feed the animals so I could hardly see any, I mean if they open at 9.00 I expect its all done and ready for the visitors even on Sundays, the food and drinks are way overprized, you are not... My family and I were in Orlando, intentionally steering clear of the large amusement parks, as we've done those. I was looking for more locals type stuff and happened across the Central Florida Zoo's website. It looked interesting enough. Keeping things in perspective, I'm able to give an honest impression of this attraction. It isn't a huge zoo like in... More

This was very disappointing after ready mostly positive reviews. The exhibits are so far away from the viewing walkways it is difficult to see the animals. It is really geared for young children ( under 8-9 years ) . Botanical gardens? Not hardly, there were a few variety of seasonal plants that are mostly local to the area and are... More

The visit was phenomenal. My son and I got there in time to see the snake feedings - which we've always missed in the past. Then we continued on our journey through the zoo and realized all of the animals were actually awake and alert - in the past the animals are usually sleeping. We went a little later in... More

I took my 5-year old grandson while visiting Florida from North Carolina, and we were thrilled by this peaceful, beautiful zoo and garden. The trees provide ample shade, the wood walkways are nice, there are several fun art pieces, a small train around the parking lot and woods is perfect for families, there are lots of picnic tables, a playground,... Pleasant quiet enjoyable day!Had 11 year old and 5 year old. Low key educational fun!! Day to spend time not in huge crowds or huge resorts. Not expensive. Teenagers might be bored.
