On Saturday there is a very active farmer's market on Main Street and the river walk is also very nice with benches. There is a Park with pavilions where you can picnic and also grills. There is a lovely museum. Take a lovely stroll down main street and have lunch at the many diverse restaurants.

Lots of little shops with unique items - friendly owners . River walk is relaxing if you're just looking for a place to sit and just breathe in - this is the place

We've lived a few miles from downtown Sanford for a few years now and had never been there during the evening until last weekend. We were hoping to see some nice Christmas lights, but there wasn't much of that. However, the scene was lively and we didn't realize how many restaurants and local mom and pop places there were down... More

I have lived in Sanford going on 4 years and I love it. Main Street is artsy and has several excellent restaurants. People are friendly and helpful!

Historic town that really took off in the early 1900's ... brick streets, shops, restaurants, bars with live music and tons of antiques ... plan on a coupla days to see it all (a week would better)

Went to dinner at the Willow cafe which was excellent German food. Visited various shops. All shops appeared to be locally owned, several art shops where we spent a lot of time.

Got to the Autotrain early so we had some time to spend in Sanford (which is maybe a mile or so from the station). It's a pretty town with lots of nice, quaint shops. We spent a little time on the main street and had coffee in one of the restaurants. We spent most of our time on the RiverWalk.... More

Has become a much better place to walk around. more opened stores to visit, clean streets, Also not get hit on by individuals. I don't mind taking my grandkids now for walks.

Quaint antique shops, good local food, and evening activities, plus you can take a walk along the water after dinner!

Visited downtown Sanford,Florida September 19,2016 with my wife, sister and her husband. We went into several of the local antique shops and stores located along the Main Street and ate at the German Cafe. There is also a river walk and Marina with several restaurants and pizza parlors nearby. Once a month usually on a Thursday night the streets are... More
