Spent a few hours there last night and wondered around from bar to bar. Place is quaint and easy to walk around. Nice place to take a stroll.

Historic downtown. The evening I rode through just checking it out, there was some kind of activity and there were people strolling the streets, sitting on benches, the restaurants were packed and the Riverwalk was busy. Apparently, they have this type of thing at least...More

Very nice except for a cadre of homeless/mentally ill zombies roaming the area day and night. If the city had any sense (which they don't) they would have police on horses or on bikes permanently assigned to the area,

Downtown Sanford has become a destination for people of all ages. Plenty of good and varied food stuff's, bars, music, a thriving theater, ice cream parlors, book stores, a monthly street party. It has something for everyone.

I would definitely go for one of the Historic District B&B Higgins House the hotels downtown are not very nice at all. There is a good hotel out by the mall and I-4 (Springwood Suite) but it is 4-5 miles from the Riverwalk.
