There are a lot of shops and places to eat. Great variety of things to do for all ages! Stores have odd closing times so be sure to check before you go. I would recommend checking it out.

Periwinkle Way is a great place for multiple shopping experiences while you're on Sanibel Island. I'm sure most can find something good to take home!

The "Main Drag". Traffic usually busy but not unreasonable. I got a kick out of the traffic directors instead of traffic lights. Surprised there are not more fender benders.

The heartbeat of the Island. It had it all. Bars, Liquor store, Ice Cream, Pubs, restaurants, retail stores, grocery stores, Bait and Tackle, everything you could need is stretched all along Periwinkle Way. All which is connected by fantastic, safe bike paths.

The Good: With A/C running, motor idling, and foot on the brake, I have plenty of time to read bumper stickers. The Bad: The car in front of me is usually stopped. The Ugly: Even on a good day, Periwinkle Way can be an unattractively...More

The fewer the people, the better the shelling. The entire coastline of Sanibel and Captiva Islands is littered with incredible shells...you just have to be patient and observant. Shelling is especially good when there is a... More
