Red tide is very evident from the causeway. We stopped to investigate further and the smell was pungent and dead fish were visible in the water and on the beach. Very sad situation, Sanibel Island is one of my favourite places in the world, but...More

Love going over that bridge and across to Sanibel. Yes it's expensive but it's exciting to head over to Sanibel and the bridge looks like you're just driving into the blue sky!

Beautiful drive. Be prepared for the $6.00 toll. A bit pricey but the roads are maintained. Stop along the causeways and enjoy the water.

After the $6 toll you're on your way! I immediately feel happy and calm crossing the causeway. Nothing can go wrong; life is good. Not so much the other way though.

Nice roadway. The tolls are kind of pricy but I suppose that’s what pays for the maintenance. Sanibel is a beautiful place.

The bridges to Sanibel/Captiva are a most welcome replacement to the unstable, rickety ones that we utilized for decades. There are lovely places to stop and enjoy the water enroute to the islands. It is worth the $6 toll.

Not sure why anyone would want to. It’s a noisy bridge, after all.
