You will see boats, and all kind of water sports, especially on a windy day. A fun bridge where you can stop and enjoy the views, especially the sunset or sun rise.

The views from the causeway are spectacular. People come from Ft. Myers to fish and there are parking spots at the base. There is a toll going to Sanibel.

The causeway contains a high bridge which is quite steep. If you like roller coasters (I don't) you will love transversing the causeway!

The Causeway is the way to gain access to the island, other than via boat or swimming. You can bike it if you dare as it's a long pedal. Scenic and you will always see fisher people and families picnicking.

The Sanibel Causeway is easy to access and convenient to drive as one passes over on the way to Sanibel Island. The lanes are wide and easy to traverse.

Once you cross the 1st bridge (coming from the Fort Myers direction), turn right at the first pull out (a small park). Great place to watch the sunset.

Yes, you can pull over on either side. It is very popular on weekends but virtually deserted during the week.

All the beaches on Sanibel are covered in sea shells. The best time to find the large and unique shells is early morning before the gobs of tourists hit the shoreline for the day. Happy shelling. Be sure to take a bag to put... More

Since they built it...$6 toll on Ft Myers mainland side...naturally no toll when you leave... Before such they had a ferry to the island
