We visited Marie Shelby over Christmas during the day. This is such a beautiful place. So scenic and peaceful. Would really like to go back next Christmas to do the lighted walk through of the gardens at night. Sounds like it is a very popular attraction. Would highly recommend visiting while in Sarasota.

Shelby Gardens should be on anyone's short list when visiting the Sarasota area. Stunning grounds on the bay, beautiful!

A wonderful way to spend a day. We have been members for 8 years, and always enjoy a walk around the gardens ending at the mansion.

For a garden right inside the city it's amazingly spacious, laid out well, and has many different sections as to 'mangrove' and 'desert' etc. side by side, but still segregated. Being right on the waterfront as well adds to the beauty of it all.

We spent about 3.5 hours touring Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were fortunate to be able to join one of the tours...our volunteer guide was very knowledgeable and a great speaker. Would recommend joining a tour if possible. The tours are about a half hour. The map provided is great for orienting yourself and ensuring... More

Beautiful grounds especially for the holidays with lights and adornments everywhere. Historic. Attended a fundraiser here with friend Jo Ann.

My boyfriend and I, who are from Connecticut, visited the gardens on a sunny Monday with his grandmother who is in her 70s. She has lived in Sarasota for years and has never been here, and we were all blown away by the beauty of the gardens! While the conservatory with orchids and the bonsai trees inside was nice, our... A wonderful respite in the middle of Sarasota. Selby Gardens is a great place to learn about Florida's native plants. Walk through the gardens and enjoy one of the art/cultural exhibits. The Rainforest Masks of Costa Rica exhibit was wonderful. A very nice Rainforest Mask will soon be in our home. We are looking forward to seeing the Chagall exhibit... More
