Good nature exposure.

This will occupy most of a day. Be sure to take the boat cruise and hike the loop trail, climb the lookout tower, watch alligators at the river crossing.

Only $6 to enter per car, with guaranteed alligator viewing. Me and my fiancé paid extra and took the boat ride but could barely hear the host as the boat is vet noisy. Has lots of walking trails and option to rent bikes and canoes however I recommend taking your own as it's very pricy.

This is a great park with a lot of nice short walks. The Canopy walkway is a must! A nice shaded stroll takes you to an elevated platform where you can enjoy a great wide open view. The trail is level, but not paved. The boardwalk walk is also a nice stroll. Plenty of places to have a nice picnic... More

Myakka is the quintessential Florida nature experience. Lots of birds, but the monster-sized alligators are the big attraction for a lot of folks. The parks is open every day of the year--we were there on Thanksgiving day. There are boat tours on the lake--3 times a day, I think and some good walking trails. Because the park area is pretty... I would recommend this if you want to see alligators in the wild, we decided to go on the boat trip. It wasn't worth the money, with barely anything to see and plus we couldn't hear the guide talking. We walked on the boardwalk which was nice we seen some raptors in the park. Fishing and kayaking are available and... More

The air boat was built in 1975. It uses a Cadillac Elderado engine with a prop to propel it over the very shallow waters on the lake. The lake was very low according to Captain Robert who was our driver and guide. This trip is worth the informative talk he gives about the history of the alligators and their habitats.... More

Love riding my bike through Myakka. The road is not too busy. Shaded most of the way through. Love watching the abundant wildlife...including gators!

One of the many state parks we have visited. This is a typical Florida Park for scenery. The walkway and tower are worth the walk. Gators and deer in their habitat are seen daily.

We kayaked the upper River and enjoyed the serenity and the scenery. There were many different water fowl to observe such as wood storks, egrets, and herons. Buzzards and vultures like to hang around here as well. And alligators were everywhere along the shorelines.

We decided to check out the Myakka State Park one day during a recent Florida vacation. It was a short drive from where we were staying on the beach in Venice. The airboat ride across the lake was a quiet way to appreciate nature. The captain was very informative and kept the alligator and bird sightings exciting. We were able... More
