Missed the circus museum. Did the house tour and walked through the art museum. Museum is overwhelming. Was disappointed with the tour of the house. There were areas that were off limits to us that they were taking other groups through. Seemed over staffed with cranky retirees with nothing more to do than watch us go up and down the... More

As new residents of Florida, we took a visiting couple with us to experience "The Ringling" in Sarasota. A full-day, or less, to see the property of John and Mable Ringling - their home, their fabulous collection of art, and the miniature hand carved circus along with collections from the circus world. It's a total awesome "worth the time" to... More

We had not been back here for more than 10 years and it was as wonderful an experience as we remembered. Friendly staff, beautiful art, new displays of miniature circus as it was years ago. Circus brough back many childhood memories. Art is outstanding. This place is a must visit.

Entry fee is a bit high in our estimation, but we did enjoy our visit and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. The educational building houses a lot of fun history and a room where you can try to fit into a clown car, walk a tightrope, etc. Fun for the kids as well as adults. Really enjoyed... More

We spent much of a Monday here, but just in the art museum. The art museum and grounds are free on Mondays. The price is certainly right. The art on display dates from the 15th century and is laid out in chronological order. I've never seen this done before in a major museum. The collection is extensive. The is more... More

People talk about a circus museum, which is also is, but it is so much more with its rose garden, home of the Ringlings and the art collections second to none!

Very nice collections, we did not have enough time before having to get dinner to do it justice, will return. The man amassed a great collection kept together by the state of Florida, great stuff.
