Two museums in one... I love the now-ended Greatest Show On Earth, so I loved their museum. I'll have to admit I could have missed the art collection and would have survived, but that might have been just me or the day. Much of the millions of dollars worth of art is Mural-sized with middle-ages or religious themes, and that... More

The Ringling is actually a collection of a number of building/attractions. After buying your tickets, you walk out onto the grounds and the first building contains a miniature layout/model of a traveling circus. I found this to be hugely impressive and interesting and this is a good place to start your tour. After this, we walked back toward the mansion... More

Very unique museum and "mansion" to visit. The huge miniature of the old train-delivered circus was fantastic, well presented, and memorable. Good use of technology (small video screens) at key locations. My biggest problems with The Ringling had to do with their Byzantine fee structures. Spend $40 per person on a "Private places tour of Ca'd'Zan"... gets you to the... More

We visited the circus museum, then the CA d'Zan, the rose garden, the Museum of Art and then the Tibbals learning centre. We recommend watching the history of the circus at the museum, book a tour with a docent at CA d'Zan, take your time for the Museum of Art and then visit the Tibbals, which is amazing. The Museum... This rivals one of the great estates in Newport or even Europe. Did not expect this at all and I savored every minute at the art museum, circus museum, mansion and grounds. Def go here!

Were totally surprised by how much to see & do here, so we were surprised that cafe facilities not better - limited selection & seating - we were edged out of our seats quickly by a visiting group of elderly residents from down the coast, who really did not want us lingering to enjoy the space..very rude & unwelcoming towards... Set right on Sarasota Bay, this beautiful mansion that once was home to the circus Ringling family. Fabulous art and elaborate decor. There's a unbelieveable miniature circus display and artifacts from the Barnum & Bailey Ringling Circus that homed in Sarasota and Venice for the winter. A must see!

We have been going to the Ringling for years and yes, it is a beautiful attraction. You can definitely spend a few hours looking at everything from the circus displays, to the paintings. We paid extra to see the first floor of the house, and although it was nice, it was definitely not worth the extra money. Oh, and another... More
