Across from the Mote Aquarium and well worth your time. They rescue a plethora of birds and they have a lot to see. Inexpensive AND educational. A great place for adults to learn and also a wonderful place to teach your children about nature &...More

We found SOS while we were visiting Mote Aquarium. Admission is $12.00/adult and $6.00/children. If you have your ticket from Mote tickets are 1/2 price. Large number of birds who have been injured in accidents, by other animals and humans. Tragic, but the staff and...More

Despite the name of this facility, many of the birds here are not seabirds. There are owls and hawks and vultures here, for instance. But there are also pelicans and cormorants and anhingas. Egrets too. What almost all of the birds share is an injury,...More

Love love love this place. You can tell they TRULY care about the birds they rehab/care for. They've got surrenders, birds whose owners couldn't or wouldn't care for them anymore , so they can't be wild. Birds whose injuries render them unable to thrive in...More

Hard to find, but was glad I mede the effort. Sanctuary for unreleasable birds, so you get up close views and behaviors; what was surprising was the number of wild birds that congregate there - great looks at black crowned night herons, cattle egrets and...More

See owls and sea birds up close in this unique place near the Mote Aquarium. On weekends you can almost touch them when they are brought out to meet the guests.

I was surprised at the assortment of birds - large and small - that I was able to see at such close range. I was also happy to know that I was helping to contribute money to the care and rehabilitation of injured birds.
