If you are going to visit Myakka River State Park, the canopy walkway gives you a very nice almost aerial view of the park and shouldn't be missed. It is a someone strenuous climb all the way to the top. I thought it was worth it. I believe the height might be about 80 feet or so but that is... More

If you are in the park then it would be a shame to miss this as the view from the top is spectacular. I would not recommend doing this if you are scared of heights or grossly unfit as there are several flights of stairs to climb. However the wobbly bridge at canopy height is great fun for children and... More

Sorry to read the negative comments, about... it's to short, or the walkway is shakey......GET OVER IT! This canopy walk will survive a hurricane, due to its "flexible" construction. It's true that this is not a spectacular attraction, built for a theme park that would charge a hundred bucks admission, so please go with the flow, or don't go at... More

If you are out in Myakka State Park make sure to take a few minutes to climb the tower and do the canopy walk. It is much shorter than the pictures imply, but the walk from the parking area is not long, and it is just a few flights of stairs up to the swinging bridge.

The Myakka canopy walkway is the highlight of this park for me. It's a wooden walkway built at treetop level that you climb a series of stairs to get to. The walkway is 25 feet up, but it feels a lot higher than that when you're up there. You cross a suspension bridge to get there and the tower sways... More

We ventured out to the park one afternoon. We enjoyed the drive through the park as well as the walking paths. Saw lots of birds and a couple alligators.

We're just getting into hiking and our kids got us a book on trails in southwest Florida. The Myakka Canopy Walkway is a kick. Lots of fun, easy hiking and even the gift shop is a fun to find a few souvenirs of the day. The park is well kept with plenty of choices for longer hikes. Plenty of birds... More

A welcome break from the typical beach day. $6.oo for a car load for entrance into the state park. Big alligators and interesting birds.

This was a great place to visit. I walked the bridge and climbed to the top on the other side. Signage could have been better to find this spot since there are so many places and spots to see here. It took us awhile to find this spot. I wish they had more things in the park like this!
