If you're seeking a beautiful spot to commune with coastal nature that is protected from "winter" (northerly) winds, this would be it! Nice stretch of south-facing beach adjacent to pine trees with picnic tables and a newly renovated restroom facility. We saw a beautiful January sunset from this spot as we watched the gorgeous shorebirds hunt for their evening meals.

Always stop at South Lido park when in Sarasota. Park is on southern tip of Lido Key. Offers picnicikng under Australian pines with Big Pass to watch the boats and the Gulf to walk beach and collect shells. Good place to fish for a different varieties of fish depending on seasons.

Came here with our pizza just before the sundown. Plenty of places to sit and eat. After that we walked to the west part to watch the sunset. So beautiful.

Hidden little park on Lido Key is great for catching sunsets and picnics. Not too crazy busy. Definitely worth checking out.

The beach was pretty...enjoyed watching dolphins that were fishing...but Red Tide spoiled an otherwise nice day outside.

We stopped by here briefly to view the beautiful sunset on our way to dinner nearby. It was lovely and just a great piece of Florida coast. I have not been here during a busy summer day as I am sure it would be packed but while we were here there was a sense of peace and serenity that will... More

This is a great park located at the end of very developed Lido Key. You can park free and walk a mile along the inlet that separates Lido from Siesta Key, along the Gulf , and then into a cove with great views of Bird Key and Siesta Key. There's opportunity for fishing, too. It's free, it's accessible, new impressive... More

This park has recently been renovated through the addition of a beautifully-designed restroom facility (designed by a local up and coming architect). The park is hidden away at the south end of Lido Beach and is a great place to have a picnic if you don't mind being watched (in the evening) by herons or raccoons (though most of these... More

Walked down from Lido Beach along the Ben Franklin admiring the condos, resorts and homes. Found this park on the sound end of Lido Key. Beautiful Gulf Beach where you can watch amazing sunsets. Surprisingly, you can also watch sunrises over the Sarasota Bay that are beautiful. Has a large kayak park on the intra-coastal side of the key. Our... More
