Smaller Crowds

This beach is a great alternative to Siesta if you are looking for a smaller crowd. The sand is clean but not the bright white of Siesta. They have good parking and facilities.

great place to relax or fish. Those egrets are great beggars and can take your catch before you know they are hanging around. if fishing and swimming are not for you, just lay back and enjoy the beach, though avoid it when the red tide is in.

The sand is not fine and white and there was some refuse- cigarette butts, qtips. Yuk. Not the variety of shells we had hoped to discover. Would not bother.

Turtle beach is a nice beach with tan sand and much quieter than Siesta Key Beach. I believe it got its name as this is a popular place for turtles to lay eggs in the spring-summer. Not as crowded as other beaches in the area but very nice to hang out and walk along the shore. You can ride your... More

This beach is a moderate sized beach that is perfect for a walk on the beach. We went and there were only 5 other people on the beach and it was very quiet and relaxing. It was been our favorite beach in Florida.

We loved this beach! The sand was soft. The gulf water looked like the Caribbean. The beach is very difficult to walk as the sand does not pack very well. Great beach!!

Amazing sunsets! Coarse sand so shoes/sandles may be desired, but great for beachcombing. Lots of shells.

Turtle Beach is a great beach on Siesta Key. Just a bit south of the big public beach. Easy to get to, level and oh so nice. Now the sand is not the golden, fine sand of northern Lake Michigan. But it if enjoyable nonetheless. The beach is expansive so it can accommodate lots of folks. Great parking but it... More
