Went here today with my boyfriend and my friend. Lovely scenic route out to the lighthouse, and a great walking trail around the area. However, there are some VERY dangerous oysters that will cut your feet if you are not careful. Let's just say that what was supposed to be a fun trip to the lighthouse ended with a 2.5... More

We enjoyed this area of the NWR so much! There were plenty of paths to explore and beautiful vistas to photograph.

the water is gorgeous and you might just see some gators. Local wildlife and beautiful nature all around. Perfect for a walk or a picnic. The gift shop features all the local wildlife souvenirs.

Great wildlife area - 30 mins south of Tallahassee. As you enter the area, you transit for about 7 miles through marshes and lakes - and in winter incredible bird watching. At the end of the road is the lighthouse with fantastic views of the Gulf of Mexico. Very serene and relaxing.

The lighthouse is in the St. Marks Wildlife Refuge. It was nice to see the lighthouse at it's original location in the Refuge, as it must have appeared many years ago. Visiting the location, you can sense the quietness that the light keepers must also experienced. The lighthouse is in fairly good repair. It was not open for tours.

On vacation and wanted to see the lighthouses. St Marks was the first one. Stopped in the gift shop/information building, very nice, friendly attendant, be sure to see the stuffed alligator. Went to the light house. Although you can't go in it's worth the trip. Our issue was when we visited it was 3 weeks post Hurricane Hermine. I assume... More

It is a nice drive out to the lighthouse and a pretty place to walk around. You cannot go into the lighthouse. Good for bird watching out there and just relaxing.
