The old Capitol building is adjacent to the current Capitol Building. It is free and you get a great perspective on the origins of the State of Florida and the evolution of the Capitol.

It was just after hurricane Harvey, & before Irma. Being a week day it was basically empty. The lady at the information desk, gave a little "spiel" about the building & then we walked around. Very interesting & I am glad we did this.

Spend a little time in Tallahassee to get to know your states' history. The tour isn't long and shows the old capitol building, which is where the museum is located.

It is a must go if you want to have an informative trip. If you are not interested in history, don't bother to go. Scavenger hunt for kids is fun.

This was the only Capitol building when I first came to Tallahassee in 1974 and so visiting the museum brought back memories of the legislative sessions and Florida politics in the 1970s.

Depending on your level of interest, you view everything in at least 2 hours! This is if you stop and look at the displays and read the stories!
