The Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee is a 32,000 square-foot facility located on beautiful Kleman Plaza in downtown Tallahassee. The Center is the K-12 outreach facility of the Florida A&M University - Florida State University College of Engineering and uses aerospace as a theme to foster long-term interest in math, science, engineering and technology; create positive learning experiences; and motivate students to pursue higher education and careers in these fields. To accomplish this mission, the Challenger Learning Center features a state-of-the-art Space Mission Simulator and utilizes the immersiveness of an IMAX 3D Theatre and the Downtown Digital Dome Theatre & Planetarium.

A real treasure for a small town like Tallahassee. The planetarium is really great and the Imax theater is fabulous. We often get to see a real great Imax version of a movie at a price similar to a regular theater. I hope that they...More

A nice little learning center and it even has a small Imax. Of course it is not on the scale that most leaning centers has but this is a tiny town so it was a nice surprise.

This is not a museum, it is a movie theater with a few toy rocket displays in the lobby. The planetarium is only open when they haven't rented the room for meeting space. Skip this one unless your coming to watch a movie.

We started with a program that talked about news of the solar systems. There were some demonstrations of scientific phenomena relating to space. We then went on to the IMAX theater for a movie on National Parks.

The attraction is are poorly well kept. The Imax used to be a big attraction but now it just reduced in popularity. The wait for a ticket is long too. I think they don't clean the glasses when they reuse it...
