- Steve P2 contributionsGoing downhill !!We have taken our kids, grandkids anf great-grandkids for 11 years in a row to Busch Gardens Tampa and over the past 2 years we have seen it go downhill. We always go the 2nd weekend of Dec. and this year was terrible, hardly any Christmas decorations around the park, Food and Beverage prices have doubled over the past 2 years, ride closures - this year - No Shrieka, No Falcon Fury, No Pheonix,,loads of food and beverage places were closed up. The number of animals has decreased substantially. When you are buying passes for 20+ people and this is what you get it is certainly not worth the money,,looks like we will be looking for a different family venue next year for Christmas.Thank you for reaching out about your most recent visit to the park. We regret to read that you did not find value in your visit. We assure you we have forwarded your comments to our park leadership about Christmas Town for their further review and improvement. Please be advised, we do post on our website when our major attractions will be down for annual maintenance or extended closures as well as outside our turnstiles, ticket windows, and guest relations. We regret to see that you were unable to view these attraction closures before your visit. Thank you again for providing this feedback. - MMWritten 18 December 2022This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Written 15 December 2022
- Jeremy S3 contributionsFun but getting past its sell by dateOnly average - beginning to show its age. They have invested so much in a few mega rides but forgotten about the rest. The floors need a pressure wash, the food outlets need smartening up and a lot of the buildings are looking tacky. However it is a still a nice way to spend the day, and good to see animals in large enclosures and walk amongst the birds etc.Thank you for providing this feedback from your visit. We take guest feedback incredibly seriously, as it helps us improve our park for all of our guests. We are thrilled that you enjoyed visiting our animals. However, we regret to hear that we did not meet the standards you have come to expect from Busch Gardens. The beautification of our park is among our top priorities, and we would like to apologize that this was not evident on the date of your visit. We have forwarded your comments to our leadership team for their consideration and further action. - dspiderw70 contributionsDisappointedVisited when it first opened and enjoyed it....then. Now it is another over priced amusement park where 40% of the attravtions are closed. The "zok" part is a big padture where a few animals graze and a couple too small enclosures for animals who dezerve better. The gardens and topiaries were the only savong factor. All in not worth near the ticket price.Thank you for reaching out about your recent experience. We regret to read you did not find value in your visit. Our Serengeti Plain is a 65-acre natural habit. The health, welfare, and safety of all the animals at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay are top priorities and we go to great lengths to ensure our animals live healthy, enriched lives. We are a highly accredited AZA zoological facility, and our animal habitats exceed all industry standards as well as state and federal guidelines. The passion you have about the care and well-being of animals is evident, and it is consistent with the responsibility we feel for all of the animals that are entrusted to our care. -MKWritten 31 December 2022This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 December 2022
- Paul BAllentown, Pennsylvania34 contributionsGet the quick queuesBeautiful day, clean park, fun coasters. The Christmas lights were nice. It was extremely crowded - wait times were all over an hour or two. The quick queue was well worth it. But I made the mistake of not paying more for one ride on gwazi because it seemed ridiculous. Everything was sooo expensive already! We figured we could wait in one line. It was over 2 hours all day and when we finally got in, it closed for an hour for fireworks. We waited soooooo long! Another issue is that they do not have enough places to eat. All hour plus waits for just okay or not great food was a big time waster and frustration. If they could work on the food issue, it would really improve guests experience!Thank you for reaching out about your experience at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. We are happy to read you enjoyed the Christmas lights! We apologize your experience was affected by extended wait times. We regret to read about any disappointment about our culinary options. We have forwarded your feedback to our leadership team for further internal review and improvement. -MKWritten 8 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 3 January 2023
- Cheryle B35 contributionsWaste of time and moneyMost of water rides closed. Terrible music at the Stanleyville theater. Areas closed off and rerouted. Food prices are very high. The signage is terrible, should be bigger and more of them. Not all trains working. If you are charging full price than you should get full value everything open. The gift shops are a rip off; if they charged realistic prices they would probably sell a lot more. Don’t ask me to round off the price I pay for goods for the park. Admission is expensive enough. The poor gorilla was eating a card board box. Parking markers are not well marked, specially for the handicapped. We regret to read that you did not find value in your most recent visit to Busch Gardens Tampa. We certainly do apologize that you were unable to enjoy the park as you had planned during this visit due to several experiences throughout the park. Please be advised, we do update our Closure Schedule on our website daily for attractions that will be closed for long term maintenance. We understand your frustration and have forwarded your comments to our leadership teams for internal review and improvement. Our guest's feedback is an incredibly valuable tool we do not take for granted. - Jason FMacomb, Michigan188 contributionsTerrible service, food and just about everything……..For being the down season it’s extremely busy due to the mid winter break for most places around the country. Seems management has failed to take this into consideration. Most of the stands and shops are closed and the food lines are unacceptable. The prices are very high and not reflecting this “ seasonal” change. Poor customer service everywhere for paying a huge price for parking all the way up to the day passes. Had several employees tell us to complain about all of it 😂🤣. Pretty sure nothing would be done. Stay far away from this place and this side of the state of Florida in general.Thank you for taking the time to share some details from your visit to Busch Gardens Tampa. Guest feedback like yours is pivotal to the improvement of our park and encourages us to elevate to a higher standard. As you might imagine, on days such as weekends and holidays, we can experience a higher attendance to the park. This may cause longer lines and waits for some of our attractions. We would like to apologize for any impact this may have had on your visit. We always want our guests to have the opportunity to experience all that our park has to offer. Additionally, we regret to hear that your purchases did not meet the value you had anticipated. We understand how important it is for our guests to plan and budget for their visits. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional products and experiences for your guests. - Cari G10 contributionsA nice surprise and don’t miss the giraffes!Went into the experience with no expectations- we are not “Disney”/theme park people, but with a bunch of tweens on spring break in Tampa, we felt like we could take a chance and spend a day here. Arrived on a Tuesday right when the park opened and it was very clean and basically empty. We paid for advance Fast Pass jr. tix and did not need them (wonder if we could have gotten a refund??) the rides were all functional with the exception of the sky tram thing. It was pretty hot so a lot of animals were sleeping/hiding, however we did get some great interactions with the elephants, birds, and penguins (funny & cute!). We splurged in the Serengeti tour where we fed the giraffes. That truly was fabulous and sooooooo fun. Yes, the souvenirs and food was crazy expensive, but we only had lunch at the park and brought our water bottles. All in all a very nice visit and not as commercialized as I thought it would be. Visit with reasonable expectations and you might even have fun! :-)We are thrilled to read you had a positive experience during your recent visit! We recommend reaching out to our Guest Correspondence team at BGA.GuestInformation@seaworld.com for further assistance with your Quick Queue Junior. - David C5 contributions2 hr queues !!!Visited 5th April 2023. Waiting times were a joke, two hours for cheetah hunt, 2 hours for the log flume even though it said 30 mins, one hour wait for iron gwazi. What a waste of money! Not enough staff on and they all moved like sloths. Even lunch was a joke. Stood for easily 45 mins - 1 hr at Zambia grill, the only positive was that our food was free with the ticket! Very disappointed, not good value for money. On the plus side I was eventually able to ride iron gwazi!Thank you for feedback on your recent visit. Naturally, we were disappointed to read that we did not meet the standards you have come to expect from Busch Gardens. On our days of higher attendance such holidays like Spring Break, we may see an increased level of attendance which can lead to longer than average wait times. Please be assured we have forwarded your comments to the appropriate leadership teams for their internal review and take action as needed. We hope to continue to make improvements to enhance your time here at Busch Gardens. - MCWritten 14 April 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 9 April 2023
- OnTheRoadAgain32869 contributionsDon't waste your moneyWe went to Busch Gardens on March 31. We thought it would be super busy given in was March Break but we took our chances. Lucky we did as the park was almost empty. That was the only good thing about the day. We purchased tickets from the hotel we were staying at and we also got fast passes for $129 each (ridiculous price). We did not need the fast pass, no one was in line. The only ride we waited on was the Congo Rapids and that was only 15 minutes. So we paid for the admission and fast pass (then use of a locker on site) which was a lot of money for the value we got. So many things were closed...IN MARCH! Lots of games, kiosks, rides and shows. We tried to end our day on the Montu Ride but low and behold, it broke while we were sitting on it so we had to get off. Way too many rides closed which is concerning. It was a lot of walking to go from one closed ride to the other.I think we saw most of the animals. Kangaroos looked druged. It was 2 in the afternoon and they were all sleeping (not nocturnal) and if they wanted to jump out of their enclosure, they could have. Girl at gate said "if you can reach one, you can touch one". One elephant was doing the dance of distress and it was sad to watch. The animals we saw by train were good, that was the only enjoyable part of the park as there were lots of animals to see. I would not waste your money here, there is no value for your buck and the ownership does not seem to care.Thank you for reaching out about your recent visit to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Please be advised, we do try to make our best effort with ensuring guests know about attraction closures by posting them on our website, turnstiles, our Full Service Ticket Windows, and outside of the attractions. We came here a few years back and the roller coasters were fun, but had much too long of a wait without the quick queue (which really is every amusement park now). The zoo area was very fun though and we had a blast feeding the giraffes. It's a pretty good place if you're primarily going to see the animals, but we probably wouldn't come back again.

This is definitely my favorite Florida park. Everything about it from the friendly staff to the animals and fun rides makes it a winner. And they have plenty of shade, which is so helpful to this Northern gal. The food and shop options are great too. For me it's a win, win.

Buyer be aware!! The guest passes that are included with the annual pass are only available at certain times of year. I purchased the pass not realizing this and wasted money since the guest passes were not available at the time of our trip!

We visited Busch Gardens for the first time on Nov 21, 2023. My son was visiting from out of town, so we decided to enjoy a day at Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay. So, I purchased the admission tickets for the day, included the All Day Dining ($150.00) for three, Quick Que ($60.00) to bypass lines for three, the PhotoKey ($50.00) and Preferred Parking ($50.00). Over $600.00, for a 1 day visit. First, after getting there just a half hour after opening, they ran out of "Preferred" parking spaces since NONE were actually reserved after charging me $50.00 ($20.00 over the already normal parking fee). When I requested a refund of the difference between what was charged verses what was provided...was told no refunds by the ticket "Manager" and that just a $20.00 credit towards any of the inflated prices offered only at the park. A rip off! That $20.00 credit at the park, would barely cover their cost for a couple of bottles of water. The PhotoKey was another rip off. Half the time the photo booths were not operating which meant no pictures were available to view once disembarking the ride. The Quick Que was in-fact a value to me and my family, as it did provide a benefit allowing us to experience as many rides as possible on this first (and will be the only) visit there. The rides were very good so my satisfaction in this respect was met if not surpassed. The All Day dining was great for some places but not-so-great for others. The lines were outrageous (45 minutes for a burger, fries and drink), and to add insult to injury, the food was awful in most (such as Zagora Cafe) with an exception for the Zambia Smokehouse where the food was served promptly and was actually pretty good. Wasn't worth it...the "Manager" of the Tickets section named "V", she was rude and condescending. Never going back! I guess they think these expenses are a necessity and therefore poor customer service is something I should tolerate!

Who is in charge here? Honestly I adviser the owner to go undercover and check every aspect of this park and see if it is the experience you want your company to give. This place has the best rides but everything else is atrocious. A joke in fact. The owner needs to go to Disney and see what the standard is like in this day-of age. I hope the owner sees this. If you don't agree then sell up and let someone else take charge as the foundation's are there.
I last came here 10 years ago from the uk and this place is so so rundown now I was so shocked. Here is a list of issues I saw and this is just a few.
1) lack of staff anywhere. Seemed like an abandoned theme park, ghost town
2) restaurant staff seem like they are serving me from the hood. No customer service skills at all. Talking to each other and customers as if they are chatting to their mates. Extremely rude too. Get new staff in and get rid of the ones who have no customer service skills.
3) photopass. Is this some kind of joke selling this on your app and for the price. I was going to pre buy but thank god I didn't. Every ride when you come off had all machines covered over and no staff there to help with photos. The person at entrance said remember the ride and time you went on so they can manually find me after and add. Is this some kind of joke LOL. This is the 21st century and you are doing this. Please just go visit Disney and learn. The CEO/manager go tomorrow and see how it works with their app and apple watch ticket link and photopass link. Do yourselves a favour.
4) I spent ages looking for a rollercoaster shown on the app map.after looking extensively I ask a staff member who tells me it was taken down long ago. Is this some kind of joke. These are school boy errors you would expect from some small fair ground. Not a massive theme park!!!
5) I came from Orlando Florida 2 hrs for them to close all the rides at 1pm due to rain. Just rain. No thunder or lightning or wind issues. Just rain. Where I'm from in UK I have never heard of rides closing for rain. Later it gets announced the park closing early at4pm rather than 9pm. The same was done the day before. How can you anticipate it will rain until 9. Even if it does you must remain open to give it every chance. What about people who bought fast pass or all day dining. They have the right to use until 9 even if rides close. You think Disney or universal would do this. Honestly a joke. Probably do this just so they don't have to pay their staff full shift hours and they know most people have included with 2 week SeaWorld pass so don't have to give out refunds if they do this.
These are just a few of the issues. I hope the CEO/owner/manager sees this as they need to know this is unacceptable. Don't charge prices of a large theme park and act like a little circus that has come to the local park!!

Went for the day with my family while on holiday in Orlando. The day started fine the kids went on some rides. Myself and my daughter went on the Tigris ride. As the ride even up the first twist my harness came off, I was absolutely terrified and had to hold on which resulted in a damaged finger.
My husband ask to speak to the manager and I received first aid, the staff member didn’t even check my harness was attached, there was only a few other people on the ride as the park was very quiet. Feel very let down as the staff have a duty of care for all visitors. Been back home a week now and still having issues with my finger. This experience has completely put me off rides and had a negative impact on the rest of our holiday.

We sincerely regret to read about this experience and deeply apologize for any frustration or distress. Safety is the only thing that takes precent over fun within our park and we would assure you we take feedback of this nature very seriously.
Our rides are designed with safety at the forefront and our manufactures ensure every guest is safe from start to finish. On June 18, 2023 we purchased a package deal from your website for a hotel room/tickets/dining plan/quick queue/parking at both Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando. The dates of arrival was October 14th and departing date was October 18th. When we arrived on the 14th we checked into the Hyatt Place Near Busch Gardens. This hotel did not look anything like the online pictures and was filthy. There was no notification either that we would be required to pay for parking each night at $12 (total was $60 plus taxes). The next morning we went down for the free breakfast which was lacking and disgusting for all of us. We then left, parked at Busch Gardens and rode the tram to the front. Once we got to the front there were nothing but issues. We spent two hours at Guest Relations speaking to Isabella, Shakira and Takisha. No one could find the tickets we had purchased so we could not get in. We printed out everything from the emails received and they could not find anything. Finally, we were let in and given our dining plan bands. We then left and ate at the first restaurant we came to which had chicken and burgers only. The food was terrible, overpriced and lacking. We then left and rode a few rides. There was never a wait for any ride so the use of a quick queue was a waste. We then went to feed the kangaroos and paid $8 each and was given a small cup of lettuce and some animal feed. None of the kangaroos would eat. We ended up dumping the food out and left. We then tried to see the tigers, none were out. We then tried to see orangoutangs and none were out. We then looked for shows and couldn’t find anything. We went by the Safari Tours desk to see if we could switch our tour that was booked for October 16th at 12:30PM to the 15th and was told yes at the Safari tour desk. We gave them our confirmation number and they stated they could not locate our reservation and could not help us and directed us BACK once again to Guest Relations. So we walked over and spent another hour plus talking to Takisha and Marilyn (senior manager on duty). They claimed to also not be able to find our reservation. We then got fed up with all the run around and rude employees and asked for a full refund so we could leave. Marilyn told us she couldn’t help us because we purchased our package and paid the hotel for it, not Busch Gardens. We informed her that was incorrect and showed her all the emails from Busch Gardens. She wouldn’t listen and told us to ask for a full refund at the Hyatt hotel. We left and went by the Hyatt hotel front desk told them what was happening and they stated there was nothing they could do that we paid Busch Gardens for everything. We told them to check us out of our room because we were leaving. They did, we packed our bags and left the hotel. They have it noted in their hotel reservation that we left on October 15th after one night, and we DID NOT stay until the 18th (4 nights). We only used dining one single time the entire visit each at Busch Gardents the only day we visited which was the 15th. I had called to purchase three extra days of dining for our trip so our food would be covered the entire visit at both SeaWorld and Busch Gardens.

Unless you want to spend your day figuring out where it can be used for food, where it can't (which is most places) and what it can be used for (yes to soda, no to water). Brutal experience - marketing honchos got the revenue side of this offer right and the delivery side completely wrong. So disappointed that I will never ever spend another cent of my money at this park. You got me and that's all you will ever get. Enjoy it. I will count my money.

I was very upset that we were approached very aggressively by club Wyndham employees asking if we were Busch Gardens season ticket holders, when we said yes, they asked if we had received our free gift. at this point we thought they worked for the park. after they got us over to their little area we realized they worked for club Wyndham. they started bombarding us with offers. we just wanted to get away from them and go back to our family day. but they keep saying there was free stuff for us, if we just agreed to visit a wyndham facility. we agreed to do a visit. then we find out we have to give them a $40 deposit. at this point i just wanted to get away from them, so i gave them the deposit. after we got to the next ride and i got my kids in line, i decided that this was wrong for them to be doing this when people are just trying to enjoy time for their family.. i then went back and got a refund. I think this is a terrible thing for Busch Gardens to allow at their property. Shame on you, Busch Gardens for allowing these people to deceive your guests and take up their time

heading over that way. My husband and I are not ride people. Does busch gardens offer anything other than rides?

There are animals to see but other than that, it’s just souvenir shops and food.
What is included in just a single-day ticket at Busch Gardens?

Take a moment to go to the Busch Gardens web site for complete answers. Your ticket will get you into the park, once inside you are free to ride any ride, see any show, check out the animals etc. There are some premium experiences that charge additional amounts, these would include certain interactions with animals or priority entry to rides. Your food and parking if needed are also separate charges.

I received 2 free guest passes to use by this weekend (I'm a silver pass holder). My daughter and her friend would like to go. The ticket states that I have to be with them. Are they going to be able to get in the gates like 30 mins before me? I have to work and won't be able to go as early as they want to go.

My sister gave us the guest passes and I went in without her. However, it might depend on the team member.
What day does Busch Gardens usually open for the year? Looking to go in May 2024 but don't want to shortchange our visit.

How much is a mobility scooter at Bush gardens

They charge more than other theme parks! $100 to $125 depending on the day. Plus, you have to make reservations in advance. They are still using the old 4 wheels cumbersome scooters.
can you use 2 free passes in one visit

My sister gave my husband and me free passes and we used them on the same day.
