Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 1,300 amazing animals on 56 acres of natural habitats. Guests will find many interactive exhibits and opportunities to get closer to wildlife -- feed a giraffe, hold a lorikeet, touch a stingray and more. The Zoo's Manatee and Aquatic Center expands the traditional boundaries of a zoo, focusing efforts on critical care for injured, sick and orphaned wild manatees. Also at the zoo: splash ground water play areas, wild rides, educational shows and cafes.

I am new to the south, and must admit I didn't know what to expect when I decided to see what the local zoo looked like. I was blown away by the size, diversity of animals, activities for all ages and how well the animals are cared for. I must have tried every last activity that was offered. Had to... More

We took our boys (ages 8 and 11) to the zoo and they had a great time. The zoo is big and requires lots of walking so be sure to hydrate along the way! The animals like to find shade to relax in during the heat of the day so I'd recommended going early before they all disappear!

I really enjoyed my day at this zoo. There were many animals to see and they were easy to see. I plan to return soon with my grandchildren.

We walked through the zoo and visited for about 2 hours. Some of the zoo was closed down and had no animals but all in all it still was a nice zoo to visit.

We went with kids ages 8, 3, 3, 7 months 5 adults and had a great time. There are exhibits like the wallabies you can go right in and see them inches away. Great for kids young and old. I recommend taking the tram tour you see and hear a lot about the animals, then you can walk to you... More

I loved this zoo so much that I decided to get the pass membership two years on a row! It's such a great place to go walk around. It's clean and well kept. Newer kids rides have been added which along with the petting zoo (mainly goats) and the splash pad area make it a favorite spot for families with... More

Both of my grandchildren go to the excellent school on site of this amazing Zoo! We all have season passes, and go as often as we can! Everything is hands-on, especially for the young crowd, and weather in Tampa usually makes for a pleasant day---even in the summer heat. Good-Clean-FUN for the whole family!

I love zoo's and Lowry is no exception. While it's smaller than other zoo's I've visited, it's still enjoyable. Be sure to bring swimsuits for the kids if the weather's right. They have a large water area and the kids really enjoy it.

The zoo and the animals were delightful. The park is laid out well, but the Manatees were not available when we were there. There were plenty of other animals to see, however. The zoo was/is designed for every age group. The only negative is that the cooking oil they use to make pop corn, etc, made both my husband and... More

Let's face it, every mid to large city has a zoo. Most find it necessary for their family fun portfolio of tourist attractions. What Tampa and the state of Florida forgot is that some family fun attractions need to be is affordable. I don't mind paying to see a zoo, I realize they are capital intensive and figure it is...
