Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is home to more than 1300 animals and famous for having one of the most beautiful, tropical zoological settings in the world. The Zoo brings together animals and visitors to create unforgettable, natural connections. Guests get closer to wildlife than ever before by touching a giant tortoise, feeding a giraffe, getting nose-to-horn with an Indian rhino, hand-to-fin with slippery stingrays and more! Families can also splash in water play areas, feel thrills on rides and take in educational shows.

Love manatees? The Zoo is the only place in Tampa where guests can see Florida manatees year round. At the David A. Straz Jr. Manatee Hospital, the Zoo’s veterinary and animal-care staff treat sick, injured and orphaned manatees, and return them to the wild after rehabilitation. The Zoo also cares for the most diverse group of Florida wildlife anywhere, and has won numerous awards for animal preservation.

This is a great place to take the whole family for some fun. It's a great size- big enough to have lots to see and do, but small enough you can see just about everything in one trip. Lots of great animals, plus a splash pad and some rides for the kiddos.Everything is kept clean and organized. Be ready for... More

This is a great zoo, and I say that as someone who's visited many. The elephants put on a great show the day we were there - we watched the male "climb" (put his front legs up on a pole and extend himself to his fullest height) in order to reach some treats hung high above their heads. He was... More

This is a nicely laid out zoo with a large variety of visible animals. Every time there was an exhibit for an animal, we could see the animal. The zoo doesn't require extensive walking and time to see all the exhibits because of the way it is designed. And this is nice for children, for adults with limited energy and/or... More

This is the perfect zoo for Younger children. Exhibits are small and allow children to see the animals. Isn't an overwhelming day of activity for little ones. Plenty of shade and peaceful boardwalks.

Great layout and walking paths. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Animals varieties were good, hands on ( touch areas) are very informative. Fantastic place to relax and enjoy animals, plants and friends.

Awesome tour with a fantastic Lowry Representative, Anna. So very worth it!!! She didn't mind all our questions and was a wealth of information. We had previously helped with the rescue of 2 Manatees that were rehabbing in their Hospital. The Vet/Dr and the entire animal care staff was amazing!!! The love they show for ALL the animals in their... More

I visited this zoo on a Tuesday after 12:00 pm so the crowds were light. I had lunch in Dino Grille and it was very fresh! The facility was clean and you get to experience the animals up close. Not the biggest zoo I have experienced but the layout, animal encounter, and dining made the trip worth it.

I didn't know it cost so much to go to the zoo these days. My child is 23, I haven't been to the zoo in years. Almost $50-60 to go see some animals is a little to much I think.

Im from Texas and I started planning my visit to Lowry Park Zoo 3 years ago when I learned that an elephant named Ellie, that I had seen as a child in Pensacola, Fl, had moved to Lowry Park Zoo. I don't know why this elephant had such an impression on me, but she did. So for our 3rd anniversary,... More

The Zoo is great if you have small children! Besides looking at the animals there are water areas where kids can play and cool off it the hot summer. During October the zooboo theme is great! but is NOT included in the pay-one-day come back the rest of the year... cost is an additional $10 per person
