Drove the short trip from St. Petersburg beach on a whim and boy were we glad we did. Loved this place! Planned on a quick drive through and wound up spending 4 hrs. ending up watching the most beautiful sunset from north beach. I almost don't want to share this with you because it was not crowded at all and... More

For a $5 parking fee, you can access miles of beach and pristine Florida wilderness. We rented bikes but you could literally park and walk to remote parts of the beach and have it to yourselves. And if you need bathroom facilities they are plentiful.

This is a wonderful historical site with a well maintained fort, beautiful beaches, snack and gift shop, fishing docks, trails, and campground. It also has beach huts for rent. It costs $5 to enter. Lots of shells. Cannons. Well worth the time. Tricycles and beach gear for rent.

We had a great day at Fort De Soto viewing the old Fort, lookouts, and cannons. Unfortunately we didn't plan a beach day because, when we saw the beach, we wished we had. It is gorgeous! Might just have to come back for the beach and campsites.

Spent a few hours on the Dog Beach. It is great to have a place that allows dogs off leash and that can play in the water. The only negative...people that don't watch their dogs. Also, didn't see the dog shower that was mentioned in the brochure...but our Buddy had a great time.

We were disappointed by the $2.25 per hour parking charge at St Pete Beach, so decided the Park was a better bet for $5.50 a day. The beaches are magnificent and well equipped with restrooms and snack bars. If fishing is your thing, there are dedicated piers where a licence is not required. Other recreational opportunities exist. All in all,... More

This was a nice escape for us, from the crowded beaches. A preserved place, you get a back to nature feel. Some nice trails. More natural, less crowded beaches. Interesting fort and museum from 1900 era.

We spent most of an afternoon in this park. An amateur photographer's dream! So many beautiful places, turquoise clear water... We walked out on the cement fishing pier and watched lots of pelicans fishing. There is history to be seen at the old fort site, along with the small museum which explains about the history of the area. There are... More

This is a historical site with a very interesting fort. The lage surrounding area is just beautiful. Lots of beach area with loads of parking available. Two different piers that were nice to walk out on. Apparently good fishing from piers. We watched the dolphins play in the water. There was a gift shop and snack bar for food and... More

We enjoyed the day, part at the dog beach and then a quick stop to check out North Beach. The park is well developed with clean and plentiful facilities. I must say I was disappointed at the number of owners that fail to clean up after their dogs - this can lead to everyone losing the pet beach. The pet... More
