Went there with some friends to see the St. Lucia celebration and was more than pleasantly surprised with this gem of a home. When the explanation of the property and the tour given was over I was elated with not only the history of this place but the quality of the construction with the attention paid to detail. Will return... More

If you want to gather history of early Vero Beach residents this is a good place to start. The tour guides give interesting stories about the people ofHallstrom House. I really enjoyed my visit.

Not much to see here except a renovated older house and some landscaping. Typical of early settlements along the coast before tourism caught on.

In March the Garden Club of Indian River Co. hosted their semi annual flower show here. It was attended by many county residents and out of county residents. the home was decorated with period style flower arrangements and displays. there was a large tent set up in the back yard for the horticulture entries. this was enjoyed by hundreds of... What a great trip back into the history of Vero Beach and a beautiful home. Take the tour, it's short and informative, and you'll be glad you did.

This old family homestead was owned by a Swedish family in the early 1900's and the Historical Society has restored it and now maintains it for tours. So sweet and beautiful and if you can go when they are holding one of their events at Christmas or open houses with traditional punch or tea that is the best. The coolest... More

Very pretty house with antiques of bygone days. Docent very good in explaining so many different pieces in the house. Also very interesting information on the family that once lived there. House and property very well maintained. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

First - know that the map here on T A is WRONG. The Farmstead is about 4 miles south of where this site says - use another source. The home is a delightful relic from the early days here in rural Florida, but the house and original furnishings are first class. The docents weave a fascinating tale of the family... More

We were part of a group of 6 friends as we got out of the van we were met by the head of the museum. He was a very polite and knowledgeable man. There was another tour about the same size as ours. They worked it around very wll that the two groups didn't interfere with each other.

This is not a busy tourist attraction which makes it perfect in my book. We were the only two people there so we got a private tour. The docent was very enthusiastic and friendly and gave us plenty of time to ask questions and look at everything. It's an old pineapple plantation. The house is amazingly modern considering how old... More
