Took awhile to find but well worth the trip. Water was crystal clear and perfect for snorkeling. While doing so encountered a couple of locals spear fishing in the coral reef then cleaned their catch on the beach leaving the fish guts for the seagulls....More

Lovely beach but it is a little treacherous due to the rocks and waves. The far side of the beach was much calmer and ideal for families.

Half Moon bay is a bit remote but worth the drive (plus, you can eat just in front as there is a nice beach restaurant at the entrance of the beach). The water is clear and it is great for snorkeling. What we liked the...More

There is Smiling Harrys along the road, but we went to the Beach Bum Shack overlooking the bay a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely excellent. Can recommend the grilled chicken strips.
Is there a public bus line that runs from the cruise ship terminal to Nelson's Dockyard National Park?
