More
Quietly tucked away in the North Georgia mountains, sits a rare and special treasure. A botanical paradise fairly bursting with dogwoods, tulip magnolias, native azaleas, wild flowers, trillium, and of course, rhododendron. There are over 400 varieties of rhododendron - 3,000 plants in all. Welcome to the Hamilton Gardens, a truly enchanted spot, boasting the largest collection of rhododendron in the state of Georgia. Stroll tranquil pine bark trails as they wind through lush foliage. Drink in the stunning views of Lake Chatuge and breathtaking countryside, including the majestic rise of Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest peak.

Do this in the spring. A huge number of older azaleas and rhododendrons. Some trails are a little steep but there are benches to stop and take a break. Absolutely beautiful when the azaleas are in bloom. Many of the plants are nearly 100 years...More

Visit during the time flowers are blooming. Well landscaped and easy access. Near lake with lots of plants to view but definitely a rhododendron garden.

This place is all about rhododendrons. I'm sure it's heavenly when they are in bloom. Unfortunately we went in late July, too late to see the splendor. So my tip is find out when rhododendrons bloom in NE Georgia and go then... I'll try next...More

A lovely walk through the woods anytime, but it is gorgeous if you go in the Spring when all the azaleas and rhododendrons are blooming.

The gardens have been allowed to deteriorate but it is shady, numerous benches, nice view of lake and can even walk all the way to the lake(a rather steep walk back up the hill). Great place to just sit back, relax or even bring lunch/dinner....More

When the gardens are in bloom they are beautiful. It's a great place to take a walk in the shaded garden and enjoy the wonderful views

Lovely spot, but seems to have deteriorated. Could be a great spot Has overgrown and looks like not much care of the gardens have taken place for a while Just glad there was no cover charge

This is a quiet garden, nothing spectacular (unless the azaleas and rhododendrons are in bloom), but it has several pleasant walks some shorter and some longer - one with a lake view, and it is very peaceful, especially in the evening.

This is an easy walk (just over a mile if you add the additional loops) along a mountainside above a beautiful mountain lake, through a collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and other blooming plants and trees. Very well labeled, and in some months rhododendrons and other...More
