This park has some really cool trails and a really cool waterfall. Plus it's right off I-75. We stopped to break up the drive for a hour or two. We're planning on going back and renting a Yurt for a few days. Definitely worth going to.

We drove up from S. Fl. For Christmas holiday, my husband and I with our 16 & 7 yo. Stopped for essentials in Macon at Walmart (target too) as there isn't a large store in Jackson for provisions. There are 3 gas stations the one closest to falls was pretty empty so stop before. We were lucky and got a... More

Even with the Georgia drought this set of falls is flowing. The lake has an interesting history that you can read about at the rangers station. We didn't camp but we're impressed with the gers and campsites with the view of the lake. But walk across the road and hike along the trail that follows the cascading falls. Beautiful scene... More

This was our first visit to High Falls. We just bought our first camper. From the front desk to the camp host everyone was so helpful. Cybele at the front desk was so kind. Our camp host, Chuck and Robin, made us feel right at home. They shared so many camping tips to make it a breeze. We had trouble... More

There are 2 areas to choose from for RV camping. The lakeside or river side camping areas. Both very nice. You can access high falls state park easily on line and the site is very informative. The state park takes reservations and you'll want to make sure you have a reservation if you intend to stay here. It is a... More

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at the river side campground. Very friendly and helpful camp host named Lindy. Office and park staff were very friendly. Grounds and bath houses well maintained. Nice day park area. Nice swimming pool for the summer. Plenty of places to hike. Beautiful lake for fishing, kayaking, etc. Campsites by the river are good... More

Visited over the weekend with our family crew- 3 toddlers in the mix. The trail we chose wasn't crazy long, but it had a lot of boulders, a few steep spots, and some tree roots around, so while my kids can usually wander themselves they needed help a good bit and tuckered out quickly. Overall it was a great spot... More

Clean, busy park. Water is low, as is true in many areas in GA. We tent camped. We were late arriving, so I called before closing to get instructions. Though I was told I would get a gate code after checking in, another employee called later to give me the needed code before check in so we could get into... More

It is a beautiful place to give a quick stop and get nice pictures. Just it. Very rustic. September month with a few water.

I understand that this park cannot control the fact that there is no water at the Falls, however I found the park to be pretty boring, and nothing to really do. They have a pool and trails to walk/hike, but I was not impressed at all. The campgrounds are small meaning the campsites are close to each other. We camped... More
