We did not even know there was an historic sector on Jekyll Island, but when we heard about it, decided to take the tram tour. It was quite interesting, with our guide, Kathy, giving us good information about all the vacation homes as well as...More

We took the guided tour and saw some interiors and learned the history of the families of the millionaires club. A little slice of the times. The grounds are gorgeous. Loved the church.

We loved looking in the old magnificant houses and walking around the historic district. We stopped for a cup of coffee in a little shop, took a trolley tour which included touring a couple of the old houses and we had lunch in one of...More

Great grounds and close to water. Service was excellent. Just remember it’s an historic hotel, if use to modern hotels then this won’t be your cup of tea. The gap around the door allowed light to come in all night long.

The historical district on Jekyll Island is not only architecturally interesting it explains much of the history of the US. The captains of finance and industry built these facilities and spent the winter months here. Much recreation was done, but much business was as well....More

We love Jekyll Island! My husband’s grandparents have lived here since he was little. Unfortunately we’ve seen it become very touristy over the years. The little island he first introduced me to in 1992 looks a lot different now. We still like to go for...More

This is one of my most favorite places to visit. So many beautiful late 1800s early 1900s "cottages" and so much history! Definitely a must on the bucketlist!

The airport choices are JAX or Savannah. They are nearly equidistant from Jekyll. There is a tiny airport in Brunswick, but it requires an expensive plane change. Charleston airport is a little less than 3.5hrs away... More

Walking around and seeing sights, absolutely! They do have some shops, but I'm not sure about lunch. They have some snack shops, but no actual restaurant.
