Our family has owned a home here for over 30 years and visiting the historic district is one of my favorite things to do on the Island. I've visited 10+ times and there's nothing like the historic club hotel to bring you back in time.

Love LOVE this place! Great to walk around and see the history of the island. Each cottage is unique and they are all stunning, especially the Club Hotel. Beautiful night and day. The history is really cool and it's interesting too see Jekyll Islands unique past. Biking is a MUST on the historic district and around the island. So much... More

Some nice old houses and a few quaint shops. It was a very nice area to walk through. Can spend the day and tour the entire island.

Most of the mansions there were build by members of the "Millionaire's Club!" Now owned by the State of Georgia. Horse drawn buggy rides available for about $50 couple. Great experience.

On this visit we were too late to enjoy strolling in the historic district, or so we thought. Arriving in the dark we were greeted with a Christmas light display the likes of which we have never seen. Awesome.

Any time of year this would be spectacular but at Christmas time with all the lights and festivities it was delightful! I think this is the best time to visit.

Check out the trolley tours through the historic district. Very interesting and the tour guide made it fun.

Go back in time.... don't expect Disney, think charm and old fashioned history and architecture. Cute little shops and a beautiful atmosphere. There is a great pond on a path behind the fire station if you are a bird watcher!!

The grounds of the Jekyll Island Historic District are lovely and it is easy to imagine the way the area looked in its heyday in the late 1880's / early 1900's. The 1.5 hour trolley tour is a must do - I just wish we were able to get a more in depth look into some of the other historic... More
