We spent a nice leisurely morning walk around the farm and homestead. The peacefulness brought me back to my summers on my grandparents' farm in South Louisiana. The same slight breeze, the pine , cedar and magnolia trees, the sounds of the birds and bugs and the fresh air and blue skies that seemed bluer than normal. It's a must... More

I spent a magical afternoon soaking up the ambiance of Flannery O'Connors home and farm. There is inspiration and charm in abundance. The staff are fabulous, and I just adore the little gal that volunteers to do the flowers.

Apart from the fact that one of America's greatest writers lived here, this is a beautiful site that used to be a dairy farm and it's conveniently located right off of HWY 441N. The house that Flannery O'Connor lived in with her mother has been kept much the same as it was in the 1950s and 1960s and is on... More

Though this historic home is tucked out of sight off Hwy 441, locals know that up the driveway through the woods is a beautiful farm that was the home of Flannery O'Connor, the famous Southern Gothic writer. The house is now a small museum and there are trails over the property.

Wonderful to visit the site of so much of Mary Flannery O'Connors great writing. Short film shown about her life. Allow plenty of time to explore the beautiful grounds. The walk around the lake is superb. Small gift shop.

It's a shame that the State of Georgia has not taken a leading role in preserving the legacy of Flannery O'Connor, but I guess it's understandable considering her utterly bizarre stories. It's amazing that this 544 acre farm, just a few miles from downtown Milledgeville and in the middle of the town's strip development, still exists at all. It's a... More

I have neglected this iconic Southern author shamefully. Flannery O’Connor has long been on my bucket list, as has the farm where she had her most productive literary output. It is, after all, only a two-hour drive from Atlanta to Milledgeville. Some aficionados come all the way from foreign lands. There are more scenic times of year to make the... More

It was recommend as one stop between Callaway gardens to Augusta bu one of guides (Frommer's or Fodors). We were travelling across Georgia and need some break from driving. We decides to find about more even we had never heard or had read Flannery O'Connor's books before, in steps of house we were welcome by young man, who with enthusiasm... More

Visited with my son, after his reading of Wise Blood for school. And, as a modest fan of O'Connor, this was a treat. The house is in reasonable condition, appearing lived in. --which is how I think one would want a writer's homeplace to a appear.
