We had been told to visit by friends, but when we drove up we were not impressed. We were greeted by super docent named Hub, who spent almost 3 hours talking about H.Ford and the area. This is a spot that few would notice but it should be a gem on the visit lists.

Thanks folks! It's true, the old wooden clapboard building, a Kindergarten built by Henry Ford in 1940, is not initially all that impressive from the outside. The exterior of the building belies the amount of space it provides inside. It's hard to imagine that the building houses seven rooms of displays! I can tell you I frequently see expressions of... We went by this museum, set in a kindergarten building Henry Ford built, on a whim. The museum all by itself is fine, but a visitor will get so much more. The Docent has made this history his life's work and his passion shows. He and his wife have made many trips to Dearborn to acquire artifacts, and his knowledge... More

Very informative, well-designed displays and video. This reflects significant research and understanding of Henry Ford and his efforts to build a community at Richmond Hill. The heart and soul of the place is Hub (Roy Hubbard) who provided a narration of the video and an up close and personal guided tour. Hub knows his stuff and was closely involved (with... More

Richmond Hill is not particularly eye catching, but it will become so if you stop in here and let 'Hub' give you the tour. The museum looks like a 15-min. experience from the outside, but if Hub is there plan on 2 hours...it's worth your time. The town's existence will keep Henry Ford on the tip of your tongue and... It's true, our museum is housed in a former Kindergarten building that Henry Ford built in 1940. From the outside it appears to be small. I have had people pull into the parking lot and then just turn around and drive out! Fact is, we have seven rooms of displays supported by a narrated video and several kiosks. More

Saw an add for Richmond Hill in the Visit Savannah Guide. We found the exact location of this museum on tripadvisor. My husband and I pulled in at 2:45 pm. Tripadvisor said the museum closed at 3, so we were glad it said 4 pm close on the door. Hub gave us a personal tour of the museum complete with... More

The museum is relatively small but chocked full of interesting history. Nicely done! Well worth your time for adults, children and everyone in between.

We ran across this museum while visiting Savannah for the third time. I had read quite a bit about Henry Ford but didn't know anything about his winter home in Richmond Hill, only about his home in Florida. The museum was very well done and the tour guide was outstanding; very knowledgeable about the Ford's and the history of the... More

Next to Parker service station is a treat to all. Admission is $6 each and worth it. Housed in Georgia's first kindergarten this small museum contains a video presentation with a terrific docent, displays of early life, Indians, settlers, Civil war, Ford era. Ford developed and ran school system that included graded classes, homemaking, industrial school. Ford saved untold numbers... More

I didn't expect much from this small roadside museum, but I was so impressed! We recently moved to the area, so the museum was an excellent way to learn the history of the area. I knew that Henry Ford had a home here, but I didn't realize how intertwined he was with this community. If (when!) you go, be sure... More

Had a great tour guide and learned so much about the area and many things about Henry Ford I did not know. A great small museum, full of wonderful history.
