Should you desire to attend church while vacationing on St Simons Island, Ga, please visit Wesley United Methodist. Located on the north end of the island, it stands out among the beautiful old trees and moss, full of history and has the most welcoming congregation I have ever experienced.

Amazing history, with an incredibly historical cemetery that will inspire you to check out the stories of some of the men and women buried there. Eugenia Price wrote three major books about the earlier inhabitants of the island, and you will find the characters whose story she reported buried here.

We are regular visitors at Wesley. The congregation is extremely friendly, visitors are welcome in all styles of clothing, although I feel most comfortable in a tie. The island uniform is a white dress shirt, no tie, a blue blazer, and gray slacks. But we saw visitors arrive in bermuda shorts and they were warmly welcomed to Sunday worship. The... More

I didn't go for a church service. I was there for a wedding. But the church is absolutely beautiful! I would definitely recommend it for a wedding. High, wooden rafters. Lots of seating and a balcony.

Attended a Sunday morning service while vacationing at St. Simons. As stated in previous reviews, this is a historical, magnificent church. I was warmly greeted and impressed with the enthusiastic, involved congregation. I was raised Lutheran and joined the Methodist Church as an adult but don't regularly attend church, now. This service was my idea of what church should be... More

We kept running into John Wesley's history all over the place - he and his brother had quite the adventure in Georgia, and gave so much to help others.

A very unique and lovely church. Made of tabby and dark wood, it strikes a beautiful look against the Spanish Moss covered Oaks that make up the surrounding landscape. Gorgeous.

Every summer our church has a retreat at Epworth by the Sea Methodist Center and we participate in Divine Worship at Wesley. Their traditional worship service honors the settings of Methodism over the centuries with liturgies, hymns and responses. The pipe organ is magnificent (& the organist is fantastic!) and their new pastor provided an excellent homily. All this in... More

We attended the Easter Sunday service at Wesley. We weren't sure what to expect, but we were warmly welcomed. The members made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the service.
