Our island trips always include strolls several times a day down to the pier. You enjoy a birds-eye-view of the locals fishing and it's a great place to "people-watch". Well lit at night and a great place to catch a breeze on a warm evening.

Were in St Simons Island with our granddaughter. After we took her to the playground and went for a walk on the beach. After the beach, we went down the Fishing Pier. Lots of people there fishing, crabbing and just enjoying the scenery. We will...More

Good spot to check out. Daytime, lots of people hanging out and some fishing off the pier. Night time, lots of locals out with their lines in the water. If you are in St. Simons, take a stroll by the pier and through the park.

Cloudy, drizzly day, very windy. The pier is located in touristy area, and people are fishing and crabbing. If you fish, there are limits to size of fish, sharks, number of crab, etc. that one person can harvest per day. There is an area to...More

Anybody that visits St Simons Island, GA must take a walk on the pier. The locals fish here everyday. It's a wonderful walk at sunset. The views are spectacular too

Definitely worthwhile to walk the pier after dinner! Or on your way for ice cream! Recommend for all to walk at least once to the pier, day or night.

If you are on the Island, this is a must! Be sure to catch the beautiful sunset and the view of Jekyll Island. Also has nice views of the lighthouse. Occasionally a resident pelican will make a visit. Great photo opportunities!

Part of the pier is covered and has benches, so it's a nice place to sit in the shade and enjoy the breeze. The view is beautiful. A lot of people were fishing and seemed to be catching a lot. The no animals rule is...More

I went at night with friends just to walk. It was well lit and felt completely safe. People were crabbing and setting up to fish. Just beautiful!

Nice sunset with interesting touch of history. Beautiful area for a nice walk, shopping, and in our case nice sunset. At some points not they caught a 1000 pound shark from the pier. Wonderful play ground and park close by. No swimming.

Apparently yes, but of the hundreds that fish there, no one does. I have asked at the local fishing tackle store as well and they told me not to bother with one.

I have only Ben to the St simons pier. I have seen a wide variety of fish caught here, including shrimps, blue crab, small hammerhead sharks, etc. I have also seen a lot of people getting collectively skunked. That said it... More
