I love a good outdoor run but the silver comet trail gives me the creeps. I’m always thinking someone is going to come out those woods but overall it’s a easy trail to run, walk, skate, and/or bike! It’s not my 1st choice but I’ll...More

Went on a great weekend bike trip over the weekend. There are two names for this old railroad line. It was once an operating line of Norfolk Southern. When the line was abandon, they chose to make it a recreational bike and walking trail. Let...More

We had a bit of trouble finding it, at least using the TripAdvisor map. Ultimately we just used Google Maps and searched for the trailhead. It led us to the Connector trail adjacent to a bike shop (Smyrna Bikes, I think). This was several miles...More

Well maintain paved running, walking, biking trail that goes on forever. Flat mostly. Great for those looking for a safe running trail to train for their upcoming long distant events like 1/2 marathon, marathon, triathlon, ironman etc...; If I need to train for hilly races,...More

Love this. Great biking trail, well maintained and you can go to Alabama if you are up for it! Downside is that there are the serious bikers... You know the pack of 15 that blows past you at almost 20 MPH and it is your...More

The SCT is a beautifully maintained walking/biking trail that starts in Smyrna and extends 144 miles into Alabama. We use it 2-3 times weekly for both walking and biking. No vehicles, or texting drivers to worry about here. It is a former railroad bed, grades...More

With several trailheads to start from and public bathrooms, this is my favorite, easy hiking trail in Smyrna. Convenient to surrounding neighborhoods, bicycles can also be rented. Beautiful foliage, paving, & lots of traffic make this trail as safe as it is beautiful.

Fun biking trail for adults and kids alike. It is always busy on the weekends but very peaceful during the week. It was once an old railroad track that has been paved and renovated as a bike trail. It seems to go forever!

My walks on the Silver Comet Trail have been ok. However, I must say the bikes and dogs annoy me. Most bikers are pleasant and pass at a distance, but others are just too close. The same thing with dogs - some pass too close....More

There are several restaurants near the trail periodically. The Dallas, Hiram, and Rockmart, GA, areas have several easily accessible on a bike. Hotels - where it parallels 278 closely you may find them within a mile or two.

As far as the time of year I would say fall, but the trail is shaded with trees along the trail. So, you aren't in a lot of sunlight. If you want to know the best time to go when the really fast bikers are less likely to be... More
