We went in the off season with my teenage daughter while visiting a potential college for her in Atlanta. Everything but the cable car was closed but we still had a great time. It's in a beautiful area. Nice walking/hiking ails around the lake and down the mountain. The carving itself was amazing to see, but we both appreciate art... More

We enjoyed the trolley car up to the top of the mountain and the view. So much fun although we had to leave early due to the weather.

If you live near Georgia and can't afford to go to Mt. Rushmore, there's always Stone Mountain. ..The train ride offers a short history lesson.

Prior to our visit, the Stone Mountain Park staff was excellent to correspond with and receive assistance from for our trip. While exploring the Sky Ride and The Ducks we had minimal waiting times and accommodating services. My small children loved both attractions. We will be back!

Once you are in the park you can see the carving just along from the shopping and activity areas. It is definitely worth visiting.

Lots of American History- especially Civil War era here. The museum and films are great and educational. For the adventurer, there is a hiking trail you can walk up the mountain. There is also a cable car and shops at top. The cable car ride gives a great view of carving. Highly recommend for a family.

Today we talk about Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math STEAM as if its brand new. The story of the carving can be found at the science museum on site in. But this film is a great story of Engineering; the feat of carving the mountain, Technology; the use of the "new" blow torch, and Art; the design its self.... More
