I went to this place on a day when I was restless and needed something to do. I was disappointed because I went at 11 a.m. and a landscaper told me to come back at 1:30 p.m. That is what I did. I pulled up at the same time that the curator got there. He came right to the front... More

We visited Thomasville on a Monday and many stores and the Pebble Hill Plantation were closed. We stumbled upon this very nice museum and had a very nice private tour. Would definitely recommend this and the guided tour.

Be patient if you do not get a result as soon as you ring the bell. Your patience will be rewarded. This is normally a grounds handled by a single person, but she may be occupied showing the many homes and places of interest on this large site. The door is normally locked and you will need to ring the... More

One of the most interesting and informed guide I have met. Worth more than paid for and could spent only a few hours- could have spent more. The facilities were incredible. Super history lesson.

After reading the reviews we thought we would take a look at this museum . The 20 minute movie was very interesting. Then a young lady took us out to see the buildings at the back only three were open the other ones were not. Little disappointed. Museum was ok but nothing special. Young lady was very nice.

We took time to visit the Museum of History. For $5 each, this was one of the most informative tours we took. We were able to visit the historic houses out back of the museum and our tour guide was awesome! When we left we actually looked at each other and said "That was really interesting" and my wife told... More

A very gracious southern gentleman escorted us thru a rather unusual history of this town just after the civil war. Many areas of the south we very unfriendly to the Yankees, which would be normal......Thomasville took a different view and welcomed Yankees. It is real interesting WHY they did this. I won't spoil it for you but you will find... More

I've never physically set foot in the building (I read their newsletter), but I know it to be a remarkable local attraction with great stories and pictures of Thomasville's rich history.
