We were delighted that there was a booklet available for the self-guided tour since we visited on a Sunday afternoon and the only staff member was the security guard. The faux granite interior is stately and elegant and the grand staircase is both beautiful and...More

Hubby and I have visited about a dozen state capitol buildings all around the country. Each is majestic and beautiful in its own way. The gigantic, massive marble columns in the Idaho capitol building are what makes it unique. It reminded me of some of...More

Was there Saturday for the 8th street market and thought we'd check if the doors to the Capitol was open. It was. Definitely worth a look.

We visited here as part of a walking tour of the downtown area, and wound up spending the lion's share of our tour here. The building and grounds are attractive and well-kept, and we learned a lot about Idaho history.

We had a good time looking around here. It was a nice day and our friends who live in Boise were able to provide a running commentary on various aspects of the building and the politicians that have come and gone through there!
