Take a Hike!
Sep 2021 • Couples
We like to be active and enjoyed this 2.2 mile hike around Tubbs Hill while we waited to go on our Coeur d’Alene River boat cruise! It was challenging enough to feel like you got a workout but not too difficult to take away the pleasure!

Downtown convenience with an easy-moderate trail (3 miles)
Sep 2021 • Couples
Tubbs Hill is a trail located along side the lake just steps from downtown in Coeur d’Alene. Trail shoes are recommended as there are areas where you will be going over irregular rocks and loose rocks. It is easy-moderate depending upon whether or not you go to the summit. Footing may be a little tricky if you are not wearing hiking shoes. Views of town and of the lake are exceptional and there are several opportunities for photographs. There is also an area with access to a beach. Take water with you because once you leave the park, there is none. Restrooms are available in the park near the entrance to the trail.

Beautiful views, easy hikes
Sep 2021
During our 5 day stay in CDA, we visited this hill twice taking in several different trails. There are beautiful views along the way. Most trails are easy, while the one to the summit is a bit uphill yet still doable for all ages.

Nice walk along the lake
Aug 2021 • Couples
Beautiful scenes along Coeur D Alene lake. We just walked along the outside of the trails (the main trail) but there was a summit trail as well. A nice beach spot if one was interested in swimming. Definitely not secluded, plenty of other hikers. Glad we made the trek!

Nice hike!
Aug 2021
We stayed on the main loop trail and it was a nice hike! Took us 2 hours but we are older and stopped to take pictures and explore! Didn’t feel the need for boots or trekking sticks! Moderate traffic with other hikers for a Wednesday afternoon but it was quiet! Views were remarkable!

Nice 2 mike walk around the lake
Aug 2021
This is a heavily trafficked trail near the lake. toddles and small children were on the trail. It is rocky so wear trail shoes. There are also people who hike down to the lake and jump in off the rocks.

Tubs Hill is a must while in CDA.
Jul 2021 • Friends
This easy to moderate trail is a must-do while in CDA. There are beautiful, panoramic views of the lake for 75% of the hike with plenty of places to stop and admire the views or even get in the water. While we didn’t do it, you can jump off of “cliffs” of varying heights up to 15 feet above the water. Great for kids and dogs. There are parts you have to scramble on rocks so might not be great for elderly.

Nature hike so close to town!
Jun 2021
I'm not an avid hiker and would definitely do this hike again. The trail was challenging yet doable. The views are amazing and being in nature, yet so close to town was surprising. The east side is more green and was my favorite portion of the hike.
