About
A real working ranch offering activities for families with children during our Family Barn Nights and Birthday parties, activities for private groups in our horse drawn wagon ride and steak dinner, and a country wedding venue. Please note that after 35 years of providing guided trail rides we have closed down that part of our business in an attempt to semi-retire.

Great evening for a group!
Jun 2021 • Family
Linda and her daughter were so welcoming and eager to explain their ranch life. It was not only an informative experience, but the horse and buggy ride of their gorgeous property was breathtaking! We had a delicious steak dinner with everything homemade, right down to the bread and jam. Great evening!

Family Barn NIght at the Rider Ranch
Jul 2019 • Family
We booked the Family Barn Night for 3 adults and 2 children age 13 and 11. My kids don't get much exposure to farm and ranch life so it was pretty fun for them.

First up they hitched up a team of horses to a wagon and we went for a short wagon ride through a pasture. Next the kids were led on horses. My daughter has done one trail ride and my son had never been on a horse so that was fun for them. We cooked hotdogs and sausages over a campfire and then smores for desert.

All and all it was a very fun evening and a good experience for us city slicker types!

Great trail ride
Oct 2018 • Friends
I have been visiting from New York and we decided horseback riding in the mountains would be a fun little getaway for an afternoon. Linda and Erica at Rider Ranch were fantastic guides! We had a great trail ride and learned about the trees, plants, land, etc all around us along the way. I highly recommend Rider Ranch for anyone looking to take a trail ride around here.

Carefully prepared beautiful trip for all ages/experience levels
Jun 2018 • Couples
This family-owned ranch, about 30 minutes from Coeur d´Alene, offers daytime and dinner trail rides through its sprawling property. Linda gave our small group a thorough horsemanship and safety briefing before leading us through open meadows and forested glens. Our group included a ten year old who had never ridden before, with her grandparents, while my wife and I were the most experienced riders. All had a marvelous time, helped by the home-made lemonade and cookies at the end of our ride.
Reservations recommended.

Beautiful views from the top
Jul 2018 • Couples
I took a junior high asge youth group up the steep trail to the very top. Amazingly, they all make the steep climb. Coming down the views are beautiful on a clear day. Afterwards, we had a picnic as there's a park benches and table.

I had called them to make reservations but they were booked out. She recommended another ranch and it turned out great for us. I am glad that she did so we wouldn't miss out on a riding experience after having traveled for 6 hours to get there.

Great ride in beautiful country!
Aug 2017 • Family
My wife and I enjoyed a great ride through beautiful forests and hills near Coeur d'Alene with this outfit. We enjoyed visiting with the matriarch of the ranch prior to the ride about the ranch and the family's life there. We continued to enjoy talking with her daughter and their neighbor who were our guides. I've ridden for years and taught riding, and have never heard a better tutorial on riding than was given by the matriarch of the ranch to the less experienced riders before we left. The horses were well mannered and the tack was in good condition. We rode for about 2 hours, for only $45 per person--a great deal!

This was a great way to see the workings of a ranch. Wagon ride, horseback for kids, and a weenie roast with smores. It was fun!

We were lucky enough to have an early evening cookout at the ranch and couldn't have been more happy about the whole experience. The family is a delight and is their ranch.

Great folks running this operation.

Horses and scenery were great. We took our two grandsons and our only suggestion would be to make the ride more informative or entertaining.
