We took the drive out to the end where there is an overlook of Payette Lake. Quite a view from up there. Also, if you get a chance to go in mid June, the wild onions are blooming in mass which give the illusion of...More

We had a fantastic time on the lake after renting a 24’ pontoon boat from Mile High Marina. The boat sailed effortlessly on the lake and when we dived into the water it was clear, clean and refreshing. We plan to make this event an annual...More

Camping, in trailer or cabin, is always nice at Ponderosa State Park. Gorgeous. I do wish people would keep their dogs on leash even when hiking. Our dogs are not as friendly as some, and they just about took the head off some lady’s dog...More

We hiked with our dog, and it was beautiful. Lots of trails of varying difficulty. There also a lot of cycling trails. Right now the campgrounds are closed so entry is free. Worth the five minute drive out of town...

We took a hike in Ponderosa State Park. There are views of water (Payette Lake) and also dense forests. It was lovely and very few hikers in September. Be sure to take a bear bell or make noise as you hike along!

This park is fabulous! The cleanest bathrooms we experienced in our 3-month road trip! It is in a beautiful setting of trees, and the spaces were large and easy to get into. The signage was well done, both for hiking and for finding your way...More

We spend a few hours at the Ponderosa State Park in McCall. This is a nice place to hike some trails, check out the lake and have a good time. Spend the day or plan to camp out here you cant go wrong.

The scenic drive was beautiful but the road was closed for the last mile up to the point. We parked and hiked and it was well worth the effort for the breathtaking views in multiple directions. Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of...More

Took the family on a day hike. Headed up the Huckleberry loop and came back down the Ridgeline trail. Great trail along the lake and through the woods.

The park map should have the maximum foot length on the campsites where you make reservations. My favorite are the loops in the old part, Aspen, Blackberry, Chokecherry.

Stan, sorry we can't give you any feedback on the campsites other than it all looked pretty in there. We were only spending the day there. Fishing was not good for us or anyone else that we could see in the area.
