If you're an architecture buff like me, it might be worth a visit. When they changed from Marshall Fields to Macy's I tried very hard to like Macy's and gave them a fair chance, but have been disappointed by the quality and service since then.

Great place to shop, there's something for everyone. Friendly curious staff eager to help you with questions, sales or returns. We shall be returning to this wonderful store in the near future.

Disserted in early evening; drab, unfriendly "tomb like" feeling. When you visit this Macy's you remember how hard pressed traditional department stores are. Did not buy anything.

Go up to Women's lingerie and go to the center of the department where you can look up to the magnificent Tiffany ceiling. Walk the perimeter of the ceiling as you will see different colors in the ceiling as the lighting changes. This is a hidden gem in Chicago! We aren't shoppers but we frequently go into Macy's when we... More

With all the take-overs and mergers of American department stores over the last 30 years I thought this former flagship of the Marshall Field empire would be a shell of its former self once it was integrated into the Macy's chain. I was wrong. Instead Macy's has adopted this store to be its maybe second flagship next to their original... More

Macy's is a great place to shop. They have great selections and different sales all the time. In addition, there are often attractions that appeal to children as well as adults. There is a food court for different appetites.

If nothing else, go in to this former Marshall Field's flagship store and see the beautiful Tiffany stained glass dome. Macy's has allowed the Marshall Field signs on the outside of the building to remain in place. Good going Macy's! Friendly and helpful people who did not seem to mind being asked for directions outside of Macy's.

So many floors of things we apparently need and must have. But the prices are really great on sale items, the service very friendly and it even smells good.

Almost all employees at State St store are black and there is a very noticeable reverse discrimination happening here. Many different trips, same experience. Place is falling apart. So sad.
