Great all year round, but particularly great in the winter if you want to escape the cold. Tie this into a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo and you have a fantastic day (or days) in Chicago.

Stopped into the conservatory on our walk thru Lincoln Park. The conservatory has several large chambered rooms which focus on things like Orchids, Ferns, and seasonal plants. I recommend this as a great (free!) attraction and a lovely way to spend 30-45 minutes.

Great place to see plants that you would normally not be able to see in this part of the world. The orchids are cool! Very near the zoo and the beach.

Visited here while taking in the zoo. Amazing display of flaura. Calm place to be. Could use some more customer info. Totally loved this place. Don't need long. Half hour maximum.

The Conservatory is kind of attached to the Zoo and both are completely free to visit. It’s a really nice break from the zoo – and it’s great if there is bad weather as the entire Conservatory is covered. There are a lot of interesting...More

This conservatory's strength is that it has many beautiful plants jammed together in a beautiful, well orchestrated way. I've seen conservatories elsewhere (S.F. and Columbus to name two), but I've never been struck by the variety of plants in one greenhouse before -- until today...More

Wildflower gardens outside, and lots of lawn for strolling. Under glass is a tropical paradise. Separate rooms for ferns and orchids, but the main section is lush, green and fragrant. Worth a visit, next to the Lincoln Park Zoo.

So beautiful to walk thru. Saw so much plant life and learned a lot. We went with our tour guide from Chicago Private Tours.

Visited the Lincoln Park Conservatory when I was in Chicago between trains. The Lincoln Park Conservatory has several showcases which were all filled with mostly tropical plants. One of the showcases had a pond filled with koi of different colors. The entrance had several non-tropical...More

Very nice display of flowers and plants, arranged in various rooms and with a seasonal theme. When we were there, the theme was Africa. Nice place for a respite out of the sun, although being a conservatory, most of the rooms are quite warm. Best...More

Absolutely! There is an entrance to the zoo right by the Conservatory, near the rhinos! Also, if you wanted to start at the Caldwell Lily Pool, there is kind of a secret turnstile entrance to the zoo near the back of the... More
