The Water Tower Place is 7 floors chocked full of stores. There was everything from Victoria's Secret, to Bath and Body Works, to Sephora. The shopping is never a let down here and there are even some good places to grab a snack; however, I think there should be a star bucks on the 5th floor too!

... is not easy on a busy holiday season. The mall was absolutely packed on Saturday, it was a mad shopping frenzy, thousands of shoppers trying to find the best buy and the best deal, huge holiday discounts at different shops, though. Sales assistants at Macy's were very well organized, polite, patient and helpful, the fitting rooms were a bit... More

Mall was super busy on Thanksgiving Saturday. Upscale but has some cool stores. If you eat at Harry Carys you can go thru the sports museum. We will do this next time.

8-story vertical mall with stores ranging from unique-to-Chicago to chain to big name. Good variety of restaurants. Glass elevators provide a fascinating overview of the interior core of the mall. Also part of the Water Tower Place complex is the Broadway Playhouse for live performances, and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. (Be aware - Water Tower Place has no "nice view of... More

Big name stores, parking was $35 for 3 to 10 hours. For that reason alone, I would shop the big name stores at other locations but we drove in from MI, so for a one time shot....it was ok.

Water Tower Place is, after all, a mall, but it did have a few surprises including a traveling Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit and a store selling Dr. Seuss art. Our teen was long past the American Girl place, but we enjoyed stores like Akira that were specific to Chicago. Great rainy day activity and/or a bribe for your teen to tour... More

Kill two birds at once! Visit the observation deck and then do a little shopping! Perfect for a family with kids or as a couple.

It’s a large mixed-use premier shopping destination. In addition to the multi-floored Macy’s, you will also find trendy shops, small boutiques, galleries and a few restaurants. The layout of the escalators and elevators do cause somewhat of a crowding effect, especially on the weekends and during the Holiday season. While most of the stores did not hold our interest, it’s... More

I really suggest the water tower place. It has awesome stores and restaurants. The mall is very huge with a lot of people but worth the trip.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighbourhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
