Visited Half Acre numerous times in the past to try non-publicly released offerings of their craft. This trip was the first since they established their food menu and wasn't let down. Menu isn't large as its captured on essentially a bifold pamphlet but captures all you'd need to pair with their beer. Small bites consisting of hush puppies, tempura asparagus,... More

If you've had Half Acre's beer before then it is worth a visit and if you haven't it's a great place to try it for the first time. Food selection isn't super expensive but everything is great.

My fiance and I were downtown for our early Valentines weekend and stopped in here for some beer and lunch. We found the taproom to be very inviting and quite busy for a Wednesday afternoon. We started off with some beer flights, my fiance is a big craft beer lover and LOVES their Vallejo beer so he was very excited... More

A Saturday evening and the area around the Half Acre taproom was bustling. I walked in and I was in a small room with shirts, merchandise, taps and a fridge. People were having small samples of the beers and filling their growlers. I was a bit confused... is this all they have here? 14 beers on tap. I had a... More

It seems nowadays microbreweries are as saturated a market as flavored vodkas. Half Acre didn't serve a beer any different than the others. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere hipster chic, and it was in a cool neighborhood but there was nothing that really set it apart from any other I've been to.

My husband, and everyone else in the place love the beer. I didn't find a beer that rocked my world. But we agree the food is terrific! Clientel and staff are friendly. More families with small children than I've seen in other brewpubs. There are are several other craft brewers within walking distance. We had a good time!

I like beer, and I go to beer places. Breweries, bars, restaurants, and any additional locations that may fall into that bracket. We hit a few spots in Chicago, specifically to check out beer. A Binny's, Eataly, Lagunitas, and Myths & Legends Brewing. Out of the several spots we hit, Half Acre was the one I wish we had more... More

Very down to earth, but informative explanation about the history of Half Acre was provided. Clear and concise description of the brewing process was also presented. They also gave us a pint glass souvenir and three pints of their beer to sample. I liked that they make you wait to get into the tour, this keeps the tour full of... More

Great beer and the best beer tour I've ever been on! You have to show 45-60 minutes early to be guaranteed a spot on the Saturday tour, but it's well worth it. For $10 you get a glass, 3 full pints, and, on our tour at least, a very comedic history of Half Acre and the brewing process.

I enjoy going to breweries when we travel and generally have a good time but I wouldn't make the trek back to Half Acre. We sampled several of their beers and liked a few but nothing really stood out as being spectacular. The music was too loud for the extremely cramped setting and only one guy was manning the tap...
