Rosehill Cemetery has provided cemetery services to the Chicagoland area since the mid-1800s. For over a century and a half, our commitment has remained unchanged while our cemetery services have always responded to the changing needs of the community. Rosehill is one of Chicago’s famous historical cemeteries. If you visit on a weekend, you often will see groups of people walking throughout the cemetery looking at the historical monuments, including the famous Firefighters Memorial, and enjoying the day. Many of Chicago’s notables have their final resting place here, including a vice president of the United States. Rosehill is also known for the many Civil War soldiers who are buried here. There are three separate services held every Memorial Day to commemorate these individuals. We offer families two separate walking tours that they may enjoy on their own. The first tour is a map listing the Civil War notables and where they are located in the cemetery. The second tour includes a detailed map of the Chicago notables who are buried here. We are proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of more than 1,800 funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. When you choose a Dignity Memorial provider, you not only receive the compassionate care you expect from a locally operated establishment, but also the value you deserve from the largest and most trusted network of funeral, cremation and memorial services. When the conversation turns to the most historic and celebrated cemeteries in the country, Chicago's Rosehill must be included with Chicago's Graceland, Hollywood in Richmond, Virginia, and Arlington in Arlington, Virginia. Located at 5800 North Ravenswood Avenue in the Lincoln Square neighborhood, it is Chicago's...More

Not as spectacular in unique graves in my humble opinion to Graceland Cemetery, Rosehill still can take your breath away if you know where to look. This is by far the biggest cemetery I've been and I had to go twice to find the tombs...More

I took a sales position there some twenty years ago, and there wasn't one of us who didn't at one time see or hear something 'ghostly,' if you will. On my part, I witnessed an other-worldly swirling haze, the height of a person, just behind...More

I have a cousin buried at Rosehill and so we were close by and decided to stop. This by far has to be one of the most beautiful Cemetery's that I ever been to. It's so big and it's been a while I was lost...More

Yes...Rosehill is easily the second best cemetery in Chicago if you are speaking of historical and odd sites. Many of Chicago's shakers and movers from the past lie here. There is also the original Fire fighters memorial, and Civil War dead. As an extra bonus...More
