Probably one of the most wonderful gifts in my entire lifetime. The physical structure is awe-inspiring and breathtakingly beautiful. The only Graeco-Byzantine Cathedral in the Western Hemisphere..perfect acoustics, loving and warm people, and a truly worshipping congregation. Fully air conditioned, and easily accessible. Some of the most precious people anywhere...and with something for everyone. The most vibrant children's ministry in... More

This is a wonderful church! A person really feels welcome and cared for here. If you are in the Chicago area even for just the day, stop in and get a great sermon and learn things! This place really works hard to do the right thing and to reach out to people.

Across the street from the Chicago History Museum is another piece of history of Chicago and the Christian faith...the D. L. Moody Church and Sunday School. The church building is beautiful; the church (the people) were wonderful. We walked in as strangers and left as friends...thankful for connecting us to Rosetta who gave us a great tour and shared about... More

There is a weekend in mid-October when Chicago hosts an "OPEN HOUSE". Numerous businesses and organizations open their doors for guided tours providing people access to areas not normally accessible. Moody Church is one of those sites we visited. WOW....seats over 3000 in a theater type setting. The architecture is beautiful, including the stained glass windows. To be able to... More

This historic Protestant church in Lincoln Park, Chicago melds features of both Romanesque and Byzantine architecture. It was built in 1925. The building remains the largest non-pillared auditorium in the Chicago area. The building (I heard) has almost-perfect acoustics.

An inspiring worship service that includes traditional hymns, beautiful music and a faithful exposition of Scripture. Staff and members are friendly and helpful. The building itself is a step back in time ... a beautiful brick building with awesome stained glass and rich in history. After the service, and following a visitor's reception, tours of the sanctuary are provided for... More

We arrived for the Sunday morning service and parked in the lot across the street that is reserved for disabled and visitors--just like their web-site directed. So convenient. Walking into the church is like walking into the pages of history, as we could imagine the seats filled, all the way to the last row of the balcony. Unfortunately, it did... More

The story of the founder of The Moody Church is interesting but experiencing the physical structure that is the church is another kind of religious experience. With the capacity to seat over 4000 people, this isn't your typical Sunday gathering place. The tour guide was friendly, the history is fascinating and attending a 10am service on a Sunday is a... This church is absolutely breath-takingly beautiful. Lots of stained glass, huge sanctuary, very friendly people and staff. If you are in Chicago and looking for a church to attend, I would highly recommend this one.

We enjoyed our tour of The Moody Church. We stopped by the Church and were given a tour and history of Moody. The staff were wonderful. They gave us a pamphlet and a cd for further information. We plan to attend a service the next time we are in Chicago.
