Went to Sun 11am Mass. The cathedral is beautiful. An interesting mix of typical cathedral + some modern (alter, tabernacle and crucifix). Music was traditional hymns (pipe organ+ choir).

Every time we travel to Chicago we attend mass on Saturday. They offer 2 masses on Saturday to make it so easy to attend.

One of my favorite times to visit is at Easter....I remember going to Mass there with my father when I lived on Dearboarn and Elm....and went to Roger Eberts funeral there ....daunting....go...light some candles for you intentions no matter what faith u r...or not....it is a vibrant community and very welcoming...and the Sunday Mass parking across the street is free... I love stopping by Holy Name Cathedral for a little quiet time....it is open all day, unlike some local churches. A break from shopping, sightseeing, or work, it is an oasis!

Beautiful and historic Catholic cathedral that has a "tree of life" motif as seen in the bronze entry doors as well as the ceiling and altar inside. Although flash is prohibited, if you have a good enough CMOS sensor or higher ISO, you may be able to take decent enough pictures inside.

The Cathedral was decorated beautifully for the holidays. There is a great variety of masses to choose from each daily if you want to attend mass. You can also just go to Holy Name Cathedral to pray. or light a candle.

This cathedral is worth a visit, and one you can stumble across while shopping. Its opposite the John Hancock centre and a lovely visit
