The place to go for incredible stuff at unbelievable prices in the Geneva, IL. Here at American Science & Surplus, we are fascinated by discovery and invention and we are dedicated to having fun along the way. We offer an eclectic range of products, many with a science or educational tilt to them, others simply handy or amusing. Value is important, and whenever we can, we carry surplus at prices well below retail. We love closeouts, inventory overruns, mis-manufactures, and items whose time has not come.

I have been a customer of American Science and Surplus for close to a decade now. In their store they are always helpful and knowledgeable. Online its a mix of knowing their stuff and making fun of themselves. The collection of things they have is to say the least eclectic but it is all usable. If you need something even... More

We spent a good hour and a half just browsing around this place. It has everything from science to crafts to stationary to Army surplus to computer parts. We got so many goodies, and my geeky computer science-majoring fiancé is happy as a clam. Amazing prices and friendly staff, too!

We have been going to this store for many years. Sometimes just a place to bring the kids to look around at the many interesting items. Science supplies, odds and ends, items to use for crafts, little motors, jars, plastic cockroaches, corks, etc. It's worth a trip in here just to take a look around.

Tired of the usual hardware/big box store or looking for certain items at garage sales? Head over to this place for hours of browsing through all kinds of useful, useless irrevelant good stuff. You are bound to find something you need that you can't live without. Kids love it, as well as science or gadget people. I bring my grandson... More

Fun place.....full of items you never knew you needed. You don't really go there with a shopping list but you leave with lots of fun and cool items. Great for kids too.

American Science & Surplus has been in the Fox Valley for a long time. They have a wide variety of items that may help with a science fair project, like clamps or wiring or thermometers. They have a lot of other unique items including old military pouches, bags etc. It is very interesting to look through the store. You never... More

We stopped here when we were already in the area and had a few hours to kill and were looking for unique places to visit. This place is unique!!! And the staff is very friendly. Store has a nice selection of science toys and a lot of industrial (and some military) surplus. They have too many kinds of stuff to name everything, and items come and go, but: The science toys include telescopes, microscopes (plus accessories like eyepieces, filters, etc.), chemical glassware, plus many kinds of science kits, including robots. The surplus includes some military... More
